In short: The toughest race I've ever done. All Mud and Hills!
In full: Brilliantly organised but horrendous conditions. Knee deep mud in places or so slippery that sketes would have been more appropriate. How about a summer half marathon version?

In short: An absolute killer
In full: Would have enjoyed (!) this much more if I hadn't been silly enough to do it on a niggly ankle, near crippling myself in process. Worth it for medal and t-shirt though. Hardest race I've ever done, but fully intend being back next year. Marshalls were all stars - most cheery folk I've seen, so a huge thanks to them.

In short: Mud pack anyone?
In full: What an event!
A huge thanks to all the marshalls, and everyone else involved in the organisation. The drinks stations were at just the right places, and the goodies a welcome extra.
This is definately not for the faint hearted, but what a great feeling crossing the finish line having endured mud, wind, rain and monster hills.
This was my first Plod and I WILL be back for more. Am I mad - OF COURSE!

In short: Amazing day!
In full: A truely amazing experience. Never ran further than 10 miles before, and the mud and hills made this VERY difficult, but the marshalls were the most encouraging I have ever encountered. This was one of my biggest achievements to date, I probably ate my entry fee's worth of food as well!

In short: Hard as old boots! - I'll be back next year though
In full: Better course than last year, however with all that mud the additional road bits compensated. However, my time was barely quicker than last year with that extra 0.8 mile in 2006. Thank-you marshalls

In short: Deep deep mud and steep steep hills
In full: Second time for me and the mud was deeper but I liked the new course better. Short distances on road but they gave you a chance to enjoy not having to fight to stay on your feet for a few minutes.
As usual brilliant organisation and very welcome refreshments both at the water stations and at the Centre. The marshalls are fantastic - how they stay so cheerful and encouraging standing for hours in the most exposed locations in those conditions, I will never know but thank you to each and every one of them.

In short: A great race, as usual fantastic organisation.
In full: One of the best races that I enter. Better than last year due to not getting lost but just a bit too much of the tarmac this year. The real heroes are the marshalls who have to endure the cold and wet for longer than the competitors. One marshall remembered me for consecutive way points and had the decentsey to enquire about my bad leg!! A really big thanks to Paul Pickford who offered my some paracetamol and support when he could see that I was in pain, thanks Paul and good luck in the Sahara. Thanks to PJC for another great event, as usual great cakes etc. What a treat to have hot soup!!!
