In short: Still a favourite
In full: Done this 10k more than any other, harder to get to now I work in Stoke but made the trip this year.
Nice race, nice atmosphere, undulating/hilly course - never a dull moment.
Everyone moans about the socks - have they compared the price of this race to other 10ks?!?! Race photos free too.
Many thanks Rochdale

In short: Friendly, well organised urban 10K
In full: Good marshalling. Well organised apart from running out of water at the finish.
Challenging course but because there's as many downhill sections as uphill climbs, a PB is possible.

In short: challenging, friendly, well organised, terrible memento
In full: not hilly, but slightly tougher than an undulating course. Very easy to find, very friendly and for all abilities. Course itself besides the park start and finish is quite dull but the marshalls were very friendly and supportive. My only major gripe was the socks as a memento, yes its a change from t shirts and medals but theyre not even running socks, you get 5 pairs for a fiver on the market lol. It just makes you wonder afterwards were your entry fee went, you dont mind if most goes to a charity but didnt notice one mentioned.

In short: 3rd time lucky in flawlessly organised Rochdale Classic
In full: I always like this race. I tell a lie, last year I hated it but enjoyed the result.

For £6 this run is a MUST and an incredible bargain.

I know the Bupa 10k has millions of spectators. City of Manchester has it's stadium finish (as does Offerton - I've yet to try this one but only heard great things). trafford - a PB hunters favourite. But Rochdale has a great course with some not too aggressive hills. It is extremely well organised and marshalled - an exciting run - each hill is a chapter.

For £6 they can't afford to close roads or persuade local residents to park off the pavement - if they could this race would be perfect. But if we count stupidly parked vehicles as an additional challenge that all have to navigate around then this race compares really well to that over prices obstacle course - Urbanathlon.

I can't recommend this race enough - thanks Rochdale for another great start to the week. Each Rochdale 10k is memorable and well worth turning up to.

In short: It should have been rubbish - but was a great race!
In full: Why should this run have been rubbish?
12 months after last years event, the roundabout by Tesco is still not finished.
It was extremely humid and then the heavens opened with great vengeance and furious anger about 15 mins into the race. This run should have been a right mess.

A massive well done to the Rochdale crew for organising another brilliant 10k. Well marshalled well organised, great start and finish, all the facilities you need, and a nice momento. Some folk moan about the socks. What do they want? Another T shirt?!?!? We all needed the socks tonight as our feet were soaked.
Well done Rochdale - fantastic yet again!
