In short: All depends on the weather
In full: Run this one many times before and the wind was kinder than normal this year. Very simple good race, twice round the lake, always into the wind no matter which way you run. Good organisation and a decent T shirt at a good price. Still would like to see the water ina different place, but that's just me.

In short: Good, definite PB potential.
In full: Lovely course, two and a bit laps of lake. Not too tedious considering but wind can be troublesome as very open!

In short: A well organised race. The course is open and flat with pb potential. It was windy in places but OK. A great way to spend a Friday Evening.

In short: hardest flat race ever
In full: this should have been a pb definate but with the openness of the course and the the wind and not to mention my over training in recent weeks i failed miserably. this is the only race i have ever felt like going to the car park after 1 lap but ill do anything for a free mug and tshirt. even though i felt a bit of an underdog with all the club runners it was no worse than the dereham 10miler i did a week before, maybe its down to the distance, club runners like 10milers - recreational runners prefer 10ks. it was well marshalled and will probably be there next year. 2011 was definately the year for wind, rain and sun all in the space of an hour for this race.

In short: Better than last year
In full: I liked the slightly changed course- stopped the twists and turns over the bridge by the river. The wind killed me but it turned into a bit of a training run. Got lapped at around five miles, but got a second wind and enjoyed the final mile- you could count down the metres by the rowing signs. I enjoyed it more on a Sunday morning than on a Friday evening.

In short: Really enjoyable event
In full: 1st timer though regularly run around HPP in the summer months. Really good event though the number of club runners was somewhat intimidating to a novice. The wind was a challenge and a half so pleased to finish in the Top Half.

In short: You should be able to do a P.B.
In full: Not a great fan of laps, but with a strong wind, you knew what was coming on the next circuit (which sort of helped). Considering it is flat, the run in was one of the hardest I've done, it felt like I was going backward with the wind. I ran a p.b. so you should smash yours with favourable conditions.

In short: wind, wind and more wind
In full: I entered this one to fight off the demons of Holme Pierrepont before the Robin Hood Marathon.
The wind was certainly a challenege to day but now I have had a decent run there I will not be so phased at 19 miles in September.
The marshals and organisation were good and I was glad I made the trip down from Yorkshire...not sure what use I can find for a bright orange tshirt....
