In short: Doin' it for the girls
In full: You'll be running with thousands of others so it's a busy route but the camaraderie is ace. Mix of park tarmac, grass and woodland track - the latter is not so great for running but relatively little of it. Good excuse to walk for a while anyhow!

In short: Worth it for the atmosphere, though not for a serious race or PB
In full: Atmosphere was special - as usual with the Race for Life events. Definitely worth it for the atmosphere and charity aspect. Not a serious race though - no km markers and seemed like a short 5km. The organisers should be clearer about splitting walkers and runners, or at least asking people to be more considerate about where they start. I was quite near the front but still had to get past a lot of people who started walking in the first 400 metres.

In short: Great atmosphere and a good cause. Not a PB event.
In full: I've started running at the last year's RFL so am very fond of it. I love the atmosphere and think it a great place to start running. Unfortunately as Namaste pointed out, lots of walkers started out at the runners' start and so I couldn't run for the first few minutes. Afterwards also spent a lot of time trying to find a place to run, ducking and weaving all over the place.

In short: Do it for fun but not as a race
In full: You can't really class this as a race according to the above scores. I ticked PB potential "quick" as the course is pancake flat but the problem is you cant actually run properly unless you start right at the front. I know I know its all for charity and shouldn't grumble, but why oh why do people who can't run for 200 metres start at the "running start" instead of the "walking start"? There were people holding hands with 6-year old children in the middle at the front of the running start. With all the weaving and zigzagging around peeps I must have done 7k instead of 5k? Do it for a laugh if you enjoy mass-participation fun runs, if not just give your tenner to charity.
