In short: Great local race
In full: Really enjoyed doing this race, despite the mentioned hills! Actually they didn't seem as bad as I'd been led to believe.

Redhill Road Runners did a great job and the marshalls were encouraging - thanks guys :-).

The only thing I thought wasn't very good was the momento at the end - an empty kit bag! Personally I'd have prefered a medal. The entry fee wasn't expensive though, so no biggy.

In short: heartbreak hill.
In full: its a friendly well run race, but those hills! We do use the bestwood scale when we rate how tough a 10k route is.

In short: Lovely, friendly race. Course was challenging but there was a great sense of camaraderie going up thosee tough hills. The fun runs are great tooo, especially the 500m for under 8's as its rare to see a fun run short enough for the really little ones

In short: Don't let the hills get the better of you!
In full: What a course!

I'd read about the hills but nothing could prepare me for them! They appeared around the 4 mile mark and persisted until around 5/ 5.5 mile mark. Although some were tough the declines proved equally tricky with some steep declines.
However, disregarding the hills for a second it was a great race, but I'm saying that the day after had you asked me when I crossed the finish my response would have been less than positive. I'm eager now to get back next year and improve my time for me its not PB material not unless your a highly experienced runner.

My best advice is take it steady... don't make a mad dash at the start or you'll burn out.

In short: The steep ascents mentioned in the blurb are there a-plenty!
In full: Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, clockwork organisation, beautiful woodlands and delicious post-race chocolate brownies - what's not to like?!!

In short: Hilly as a Himalayan
In full: but lovely. Very friendly marshalls and supporters, the route was clear, well posted and a great reception at the finish. Plus a lovely mug and good t-shirts for sale.

The cake stand deserves it's own paragraph. Well well well... if I burnt 600 calories running, this certainly tempted me back to the dark (chocolate) side!

Thanks to all, see you next year!

In short: A fantastic Autumn blast
In full: OK- there are a lot of hills. However, they are on trail, so no cars. The only hazard was tripping over dogs out on their morning stroll. Good parking, great organisation and nice cake stall (which always gets my seal of approval!). I knocked 3 minutes off my 2007 time, but it hurt. Thanks to Redhill RR for resurrecting this one. Also, results were up on the website at 15.00 on the afternoon of the race. Great service.
