In short: An excellent course with a wee bit of mud!!
In full: The organisation was first class. A great course with cheery marshals (I assume the marshal in the middle of the bog drew the short straw!)and a wonderful atmosphere. The goody bag was excellent and the BBQ at the end was welcome. I even managed not to lose my trainers this year. This is definately a regular on my race calender.

In short: 'THE' most fun you can have running!
In full: My fourth time and certainly not my last... this was the best one yet and the provision of an excellent technical T-shirt and medal was an excellent touch that I hope the Ythan Challenge organisers continue with. I would recommend this to anyone, just don't expect a PB!

In short: 5th time in a row - says it all!
In full: the old favourites were in the expected places - mud bath, steep climbs on all fours up slippy slopes, hay bales - and a few new unexpected obstacles. I like that the course changes a little each year although you cant make an exact time-comparison. It's friendly, good competition and self-challenging. A great sense of achievement just to say I've done it.

In short: A few more challenging hurdles - made it even better, though it didnn't feel like it at the time . £3rd time and it gets better

In short: 4th time, doesn't get any easier, but great fun!
In full: Much tougher this year I thought, maybe due to the heat, and the added obstacles at the end were just cruel! Great fun, never tire of this one would recommend it to everyone.

In short: Ups, downs, haybales, cargo nets, mud - what more could you ask for???
In full: A first time for me but I can see why so many people go back year on year. Great organisation with 3 waves for starting and chipped timing to ensure accurate times.

Narrow in places at the start but moved along well. Obstacles were hilarious - I've never been so muddy in my life! Marshalls were fantastic, offering to haul you out if required.

Be prepared to be on your hands and knees as you scramble up steep banks etc. Really great fun, lots of laughs and despite being exhausted ran with a smile on my face all the way!

In short: Muddy fun. Practice jumping over hay bales before you enter this one.
In full: This race is a lot of fun. You'll run out of town on quiet paths, then find yourself in the woods, dodging tree roots and branches, running up and down near vertical muddy slopes, wading waist deep up a river, jumping over hay bales and crawling along the ground.

This was my third year and I'm still enjoying it (although the course is getting a bit easier with some of the obstacles being dropped).
