In short: Good race, a shame there are no race results nearly one week on.

In short: My first half marathon, made me want to do lots more!
In full: This was my first half marathon so I don't have anything to compare it to, but everyone was really friendly, there were loads of marshalls, lots of water, lots of friendly passers by encouraging us on, and having the medal hung round my neck by the mayor at the finish was great!

In short: still made to feel like achieved something- even though took me over 2 hours
In full: From the phone call on Sat to the Ross Peers Centre, to the Major putting the medal round your neck at the finish - this was brilliantly organised. Lots of marshalls - all friendly - lots of water (and thank goodness in bottles rather than those horrible plastic cups!) and sponges - and making a nice change - lots left for us slow "2hour" runners at the back. Loved the Marshall playing the sax - made you start off with a smile. Great facilities with changing room and somewhere to get a cup of tea. Lots of on-site parking.

Small crowd of runners - and yes possibly more marshalls than runners - but this is no bad thing. Will definately be back next year - and hopefully under 2 hours!!

In short: Small, friendly race. Brilliantly marshalled.
In full: I picked out this race specifically to try for a PB - which I almost managed, just a minute off it - and was pleasantly surprised at what a lovely little race it was.
The atmosphere was friendly and informal; I thought the marshalling was superb - there were possibly more marshalls around the course than entrants.
The course itself was very pleasant, with only the very slightest of gradients - hardly noticeable. I was expecting some strong winds to battle against, but the only breeze encountered actually assisted me on the long stretch on the open road between mile 9 to 11.
Will definitely mark this one out for next year - when I'll hopefully have shed some of this excess weight and really go for a good PB.

In short: Like a pancake!
In full: Made a 250 mile round trip for this one from south derbyshire! Thought the organisation was very good, no hassles entering on the day. great facilities at the sports centre after, it was nice to get a shower without queuing for ages, ditto for the loos! this is due to the fact it's not a big race, but it was nice to do a small and rural race. the course was flat as a pancake, as you would expect in the fens, but this proved fairly taxing on a long stretch from miles 8 to 11! Enjoyed the day and did a reasonable time for me. Marshalls all friendly and supportive. Liked having the medal placed over my head at the end, made me feel like a real athlete!! well done east cambs, enjoyed my day.

In short: INoffensive half - cheap to enter
In full: wasn't sure whether the 100 mile round trip was worth it - but the run was a good one - and it's nice not to get ripped off with OTT race entry fees. Pretty fast if not dull course - shame the field was so small. good marshalling and PB potential

In short: Not very well known, but a fast, flat race that deserves bigger crowds
In full: Hidden away with little marketing, but this is a good race. Well organised, flat and fast, a one loop race which is good for beginners and club runners alike. Medal for finishers and excellent category prizes. Well worth doing.
