In short: Tough, Challenging and Worth the Trip
In full: This was my first attempt at this race and I don’t think I was quite prepared for how hilly it was. I had heard that the first two miles or so were hilly, but after that it eases off. However, I found this course to be full of hills for all but the final 2k. That said, I really enjoyed this race and found it to be on a par with the Longridge 7 Mile race and I would certainly do this race again.

There are plenty of Marshals along the route and even the odd spectator along the way, although the bulk of these are found at the athletics track were the race starts and finish and in my view not enough races finish on a track, this being only the second one I’ve come across, I think as a runner there is something a bit special about a track finish. The “goodie bag” at the end of the race wasn’t the best, but the challenging nature of this route, which incidentally treats you to the odd scenic view, the friendly atmosphere and decent size crowd makes this a worthwhile race for all.

In short: Great race, starting and finishing on an athletics track is a nice touch. Great that you can bring your dogs and take them in the cafe. A good route with a couple of hills and the junior race was just fantastic my daughter loved taking part.
In full: Would definately do it again well done Blackburn road runners!

In short: Hard work!
In full: First hill is long and steep but other hills are just as tough later on. Good to start and finish on racetrack. Hat & gloves in goody bag. Well organised and marshalls were excellent. The runners were a real friendly bunch too. On the whole a great race (but I wouldn't have said that half way up any of those hills, especially the last ones)

In short: Very well organised with friendly and supportive marshals. Hard hills to start with balanced by some downhills later on. Not a PB course.
