In short: Excellent race!
In full: I ran this race with my nephew and his mate and it was there first race.
My nephew had to pull out due to a slight injury, but the two marshals at the water station looked after him so well!
The race itself was challenging with a great atmosphere keep up the good work!

In short: A challenging multi terrain race in a lovely village setting
In full: The race is mostly off road which is great if you enjoy trails and cross country. It's certainly not a PB course but this is a lovely run through unusually hilly Essex countryside. It is challenging in places with a couple of decent climbs and there is a fair amount of mud but maybe not as much as there could have been given the recent rain.

It is well organised and I would certainly do it again.

In short: Hilly off road 10k, good practice for X-country racing
In full: Local school organised 10k, routed mostly off road on footpaths, byways & farm tracks. Some road work early on, roads fully closed for this. Definately challanging, but just what you would expect in a x-country race.
Not one for a PB, but if they were all flat where's the challange in that?

In short: 2012 - hilly, muddy and slippery!
In full: I wouldnt do Ashdown again - its pretty hilly / challenging, a couple of monster hills for us Essex / Cambs boarder flat runners. The hill at 9k was just horrible! I got my worst ever 10k time - hey ho! Worst bit however was how muddy it was - including a super nasty bit at approx 8k when my trainers sank into some cow slurry - yum yum!
The folk are friendly, its hard work, no chip timing, muddy with a slightly naff medal!

In short: Nice scenery
In full: Nice village but the prizes were quite school biased and made it seem a bit private. This hills are very fun though and makes people look at the area in a different light.
