In short: Lovely day
In full: Nice course overall, but a bit narrow over the first K, no room for overtaking, therefore slower runner’s in front created a road block affect for about 1k. Hilly yes, but this offers nice downhill runs which are most welcome:). Marshalling was very good and friendly, but near the end it got confusing(in the long grass final left turn, no Marshall) A group including me followed runners who had already finished going the wrong way. Cost me about a minute in time, but will not make that mistake next year. Amenities were very good and a small play area for the children. Tea, cakes and bacon butties available :) . £1 race T shirt was top value. DJ and free massage tent. Overall good value
Thanks Middleton Harriers for a lovely day

In short:
In full: Really enjoyed the event and will definitely be back next year. A good challenge, the hills were fun, honest!!! Loved the fact you thought you were getting near the finish and then it sent you around and this was despite the fact I'd read previous reviews warning of the same. Marshalls and officials were extremely friendly and smiled and applauded encouragement all the way around. Extremely indebted to the Wilmslow runner who I tried to keep pace with, she didn't know how much she helped me through 5-8k, didn't see your number but many thanks you helped me better my Greater Manchester 10k Run time by nearly 3 minutes which has made my week, especially as one of the marshalls said it's probably not a PB course but did tell her I'd achieved it when I got over the line. Crowds at 9k were a graet lift too!!!

In short: Hot an hard!!!
In full: This is a review for the 2008 race...This race was very very hard due to the heat! i was knackered and hated (not a word I use often) it from the 4k mark onwards...a difficult race and will catch the unprepared if you don't train for this one....that said..if it wasn't so hot it might have been easier...

In full: Wouldn't like to have to train in that council estate......I've never been 'cheered' on by so many f-words (and from a female mouth as well). Nice pen tho!

In short: Enjoyable morning out
In full: Hard? Hilly? Tough? Challenging? Come off it folks, one long gradual climb and the rest is easy. And what's wrong with council estates? Did someone get mugged or something? I found the course a good mix of trail and road and was well organised so congrats to the organisers, I'll be back next year - from a Yorkie!
