In short: Really enjoyed but maybe need for stricter rules with Elite / Fun Run
In full: My first Nos Galan experience was really good. Atmosphere was brilliant, fireworks before Elite race were amazing, and although drizzly throughout, very mild for New Years Eve.

Only negative would be that I think all runners who expect to finish under say 21 minutes should be told to enter Elite Race but particualrly anyone over 21 minutes in the Fun Run as the Fun Run was held up due to a bloke dressed as Santa entering the Elite Race and finishing in about 30 minutes+?! Think the organisers were probably a bit suprised by the numbers and the course was probably a bit narrow for that amount of runners.

However, it is supposed to be a fun run and I'm sure most people will have had a few too many drinks / mince pies over the festive period to worry about PB's anyway. Hopefully results will be up soon.

In short: Uplifting way to celebrate new year
In full: Despite falling over the cones in the dark at the hairpin bend, this was an excellent start to new years eve. Shame they didnt seem to record chip times as the results show the time I crossed the finishing line, not the time I actually ran it. Also rumour has it that it was slightly short of 5k which my watch also confirmed. But despite this, a brilliant fun atmosphere which means I'll be back in 2011.

In short: What a wonderful start to New Year festivities!!!
In full: Pinch-point turn meant it was difficult to keep up pace - but this is a made-for-fun race so does this really matter/

In short: Great Value, Great fun, Great atmosphere.
In full: It was milder this year, which helped, as did the nice fireworks befire the race. Good medal and tee-shirt, but was it too short? I smashed my PB despite having a huge stitch from too much eating. Either way, I'll be back! Happy new year!
