In short: Unique for huge crowd for small select field
In full: This really is special -- I doubt you'd find another race of ~100 runners with a crowd many deep behind the barriers of a closed-roads, city-centre course. It's like the London Marathon in microcosm (without the fun-runners of course, given the time limit). It attracts a good-quality field with generous prizes so it's great for going for a PB -- yes there is a hill in the 2-lap course, but it's not too bad.
Heaps of marshalls, also adding their encouragement.
My only niggle is that the start was a bit congested, and moving it (and the finish) along by 20 metres would solve that nicely.

In short: Superb but challenging - Not for the faint-hearted - believe me!
In full: Awesome atmosphere, support and organisation. 50,000 plus spectators (3-4 deep all the way around the course) This is not a race to be taken lightly, as you can be forced to retire if you don't hit half way within 10 mins. Found the prospect of the crowds, inclines daunting before the event, but so glad I did it. A fantastic race, no question!!! Equalled my PB :-)

In short: Toughest 5km that I have raced so far
In full: Haved looked at racing this event for a couple of year, but never considered myself fast enough, glad I decided to take part this year. Undulating 2 lap course, and the hill on the second lap certain did hurt. As the marshals were the same as for the Citys parade, they didnt give much help as to where the start was, in fact two different marshals sent us completely the wrong way, and we found ourselves in the wrong place with less than 15 minutes to the start, that could be improved. In the main an enjoyable event though, that I would certainly go back and run again
