In short: What's not to like!
In full: Another great run thanks to the Fire Brigade and all the great marshals along the way. For once the weather was kind - no extremes and even the wind didn't seem too bad once you'd got used to it. The windmill was just as elusive as ever on the approach (it's so cruel to get you right up to it and then send you sideways on an extra loop...)but the return seemed shorter for it. Post run catering was as friendly and as tasty as ever (so I'm told - I hate peas...) and the marshals went out of their way to encourage everyone, regardless of speed. I'll definitely be back!

In short: Usual good, well organised race.
In full: The weather can be unpredictable at this time of year so as i've mentioned before in review I always carry some fluid with me knowing there is only one water stop. Last year it was cold so didn't need it but this year quite warm, anyway there was plenty water at 5 miles if you needed more.
As usual well organised and marshalled with plenty of encouragement too, thanks

In short: To the windmill `n` back!
In full: It is a shame that the base is at the fire station a fair old hike from the start and also that there`s the double lap of the car park to begin the race but, when you`ve got to grips with those facts, it`s a really nice race!

This year the weather was glorious meaning quite a few specatators to add to the numerous marshalls lining the course. A fair mix of runners and a decent shot at a PB if you could get in a group on the second half of the race with a headwind to contend with.

No medal or t-shirt but a bargain fee with a sweet-toothed goody bag and lots to refuel on at the end of the race, unless you`ve `walked off the course`!

In short: Water water everywhere, but not enough to drink!
In full: Unfortunately run on probably hottest day of the year. Couldn't survive on half a cup of water. Gave up after nine miles and walked off the route. Won't be back - unless it's for a picnic! :)

In short: Quick but could be better organisied
In full: It had been said for previous years - and I’d hoped they’d rectified it – the start is a 10 min walk from race HQ and then once the gun goes you’ve got a very congested couple of laps around the small car park before you head out onto the road. After this it’s a very pleasant route along the beach road & promenade to the windmill and back. The scenery is nice, including views right out across the bay to Southport. The course couldn’t be any flatter with only a few sharpish bends to slow you down so this has definite PB potential, which is primarily why I chose it. Perhaps due to a cool & heavily overcast day, with the threat of rain imminent, there weren’t many spectators to spur us on. Parking is a bit of a conundrum; near race HQ space is at a premium, so should everyone drive down to nearer the start once they’ve checked in? The goody bag was indeed packed with quite a few goodies, and whilst there was no shirt etc. inside it was better than many events I’ve attended. I may well be back for this next year to attempt another PB.

In short: Great race by the sea, flat and friendly. And afterwards there's pie, peas & gravy + cuppa for 50p - top!

In short: A well organised and enjoyable race. Laps of car park at the start could do with looking at. Refreshments at the end were welcome, ie milk & bananas.
