In short: Tough but enjoyable race
In full: A very tough race but very well organised with lots of very encouraging marshalls & supporters. Great momento/goody bag too, excellent value for money

In short: Tough Hills - but no pain, no gain!
In full: My first time at this race, but not disappointed. It was always going to be hilly round these parts, and the course lived up to it's expectations. After an initial downhill of approx. 1.5 miles, remember that what comes down must come back up!
That was in the form of a 3.5 mile steady uphill drag to get to the water station. a bit of a flat section follows with a downhill (over cobbles) which is a prelude to the 2 short, but very sharp hills to come and then it's downhill to the finish.
Great scenery (if you can take it all in!) with good marshalls providing welcome support which was otherwise 'patchy' from a few locals. This is all on the roads, and traffic wasn't a major issue - and seemed to be handled well by the 2 PCSO's who were riding on bikes with the pack!
A nice backpack makes a welcome change from yet another t-shirt & it was packed with goodies to eat (Choc bars, recovery bars, energy gels) so all in all, a good value event.
Would do it again - but forget chasing a PB on this course, but enjoy the sense of achievement at the end....

In short: A 'little' hilly at times - perfect
In full: First mile will probably be the fastest you have ever done... last mile will probably be the slowest. If you want to consider yourself a real runner then this is one of THE top ten races in the WORLD to do before you die. Killer hills in the last couple miles. Welcome recovery massage available in the pub after!!!

In short: If hills are our friends, this is a very friendly race! Fell race on tarmac starting and finishing at a pub, with glorious scenery in between.
In full: If hills are our friends, this is a very friendly race! "Fell race on tarmac", starting and finishing at a pub, with glorious scenery in between, what more could you want?

Very welcoming marshalls, madman with a tannoy, beautiful scenery and a good hostlery all made this a great day out. These are proper hills,[not southern slopes] and I knew I'd had a race, but the sense of satisfaction at the end meant I'll definitely be back next year.
