In short: 1st time at this distance - and thanks to EHH I'm glad I did it here!
In full: Apart from getting a tad sunburned (baldy, no cream - stupid me!)and seeting off too fast (stupid me again!) it was great. I was surprised there was that much nice countryside in and around Hull (it has an unfair rep, in my book), and the route was well thought out, although a little bid odd to come back through a Sunday-lunchtime-deserted housing estate near the end - and that sneaky little hill before going back onto Salthouse Rd was nasty! But it meant for a wonderful downhill finish to an encouraging little crowd. Nice towel, too! Thank you and well to all those encouraging marshalls and the friendly other "plodgers" on the run. Built my confidence for FLM no end - I think I can do it, now!

In short: First 20 mile race, would definitely do again
In full: Very well organised friendy race, lots of encouragement from other runners. liked the split times given, plenty of water stations. Scenery much better than expected, quite flat.

In short: excellent well organised race with some good touches
In full: second time I've run this and very enjoyable once again especially as the wind mostly held off. Some good touches, marshalls calling out splits at 5,10 and 15 miles. very encouraging marshalls all along the route and a nice downhill finish. Only minor gripe was no water at the end, I know I'm not fast but was reasonably mid pack, 2.47 so bit suprised they run out of water so early. Apart from that small point a very enjoyable fast well organised race, many thanks to all the unpaid organisers, will be back next year

In short: A nice course with some encouraging marshalls and a good friendly crowd of runners
In full: Plenty of water stations and jelly babies too!. Some very encouraging marshalls along the way. A pleasant out and back course. I agree water was needed at the end but the rest of the organisation was good. Liked the times given at 5, 10 and 15 miles as my Garmin packed up before the start so still no idea of time as cant find any results yet.
Some very encouraging runners between 18 and 20 miles and a downhill finish helped

In short: A must for FLMers
In full: I agree with others that lack of water at the end is bad and also that course isn't interesting for the most part. However interesting = scenery (usually) = hills. If you want a flat, 20m prep race/LSR with company/competition for a spring marathon this has to be hard to beat.

Big thanks to the organisers, such a long event takes a lot of organising, marshalls and monitoring. I hear there has been a few issues with policing too, which is a pity from local authorities as they didn'y have to traffic monitor/close many roads or for very long - this route makes excllent use of quiet single track roads and paths for the most part.

There are some good touches too, support from cyclists was nice (cheers Kev, Dave and others) and a great idea to call out times at 5 mile splits, especially as my garmin let me down!
Big thanks to EHH and others who helped out.

In short: Boring
In full: Really dull, boring course. I'm used to a few hills and found the long, flat tracks really tedious. One big moan I'm afraid, i couldn't get a drink at the end as there were no cups - sorry, but that is disgraceful.
