In short: Great route, great scenery
In full: A great race, with some uphill bits but very gentle and great scenery, particularly on the coast in the last mile

In short: Very scenic, hard course but most enjoyable
In full: This is an excellent race, very friendly but well organised. The course is certainly a hard one, with two (or arguably three) big climbs and some steep descents, so any PBs here will only be for this course. Very good marshalling, excellent facilities (the seafront makes a great start and finish location) and great scenery make this a favourite for me every year. As others have said, the entry fee is really excellent value when compared with many other events.

In short: The hills are challenging but when race complete there is a real sense of achievement!!
In full: Excellent value and good pre race info. Easy to register and started bang on 9am! Route was really good, super challenging with a mix of terrains and a few gates to get over and round!! Helpful and supportive marshalls, loads of water stations and friendly fellow runners. So much so, I got a helpful pull up from the long grass when I fell - thank you for that!! Good medal and refreshments at the end, especially the squash!! Not sure what happened to the prize giving, got too cold to stick around.

In short: Cramp again - doh!
In full: Yes, yours truly got cramp at mile 9, when trying to climb over a stile. St. John Ambulance personnel helped out with some stretches and TLC at mile 10 though. This is a lovely race, the scenery is to die for. The marshals were very friendly and helpful, regular drinks stations around the course. It was really tough this year, however, and I do ache in new places, as they say! The stretch along the Cuckmere towpath is not as flat as it appears! Well done to Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford Lions Club for all their hard work in putting this race on each year.

I ran this race for charity, and completed it so that's the main thing. www.virginmoneygiving.com/Pete-Thompson if any of you might be interested.

In short: Brilliant value, brilliant scenery and cheap as chips!
In full: You almost feel like you're ripping off the organisers at £11 with a medal. Great race amazing scenery but it is tough be prepared to run uphill. One of the best races I've done though!

In short: Not good for a PB but nice mostly off road course
In full: Really enjoyed this one. Could have done with a few less stiles but view and organisation was excellent. Hills were tough but doable will definitely run this again.

In short: Very hilly but fantastic views.
In full: This was my first running event. It is quite steep in some places in the first half, there is also a couple of hills towards the end which aren't too pleasant but so worth doing! Book in advance as 2011 sold out a couple of weeks before the race.

In short: Great race to building up-hill endurance
In full: Steep down hill towards the end of the race is a killer. I got a large dose of cramp. Want to run it next year to better my time!

In short: first half marathon - apsolutely loved it - but only one mile marker (the 5 mile one!)
In full: was really fun, my local town so i knew where i was going (sort of) and the hills were very very very hilly on the day! but there was enough down hills to make up lots of speed and lost time. only negative is that i didnt know how far id gone for different times because there was only one mile marker which was the 5 mile marker! well i guess one is better than nothing! will be doing it again next year definatly! time - PB = 1.55.30
