In short: Quite a tough one. Great organisation.
In full: Not the easiest of races. A few hills, but nothing too terrible.
Halifax Harriers treat the last runner the same as the first, so great to see them looking after the slower runners.
Not a very scenic one, but still a good race.
Fantastic engraved glass memento.

In short: Good start to new year training
In full: If you like a course that has a bit of everything, downhill sprints, long flat sections and a tough long climb, then this is the perfect 10k.
Despite the description, it is pretty much all town and no rural, so don't run it expecting to be distracted by pretty views, as despite it's proximity to some stunning countryside, there is nothing to see here!
Encouraging supportive marshalling and a nice glass memento. In general, a good new year fat buster.

In short: Great run if you fancy a 2.5k hill in the middle of the run.
In full: I really enjoyed this. The hill up Wakefield Road from Bradford Road was a real pull. It is certainly a run that blows the Christmas/New Year cobwebs away. The engraved glass at the finish is a nice touch and although the organisation seemed minimal (no offence)it is a race I would definitely do again. I clocked the run as 7 miles which is probably why it felt like a long finish. Thank you for a well spent morning Halifax Harriers.

In short: A well organised and enjoyable event
In full: Excellent organisation by the Harriers and, as roads not closed and cycle event on, the marshalls did a superb job of directing and protecting runners!

Lots of support from spectators made this a very enjoyable way to spend a summer evening - and the rain held off! It is a hilly course but the views and downhill sections make it worthwhile.

Thanks for a great race!

In short: No better way to spend a Summers Evening!
In full: What an excellent event.

Easy parking, welcoming clubhouse to use before the race, friendly organisers and 200 competitors from sub 35's to beginners.

Fantastic scenery around Norland Moor and the village of Barkisland with entertainment from a simultaneous cycle event and a local cricket match.

Drinks at 5k and Finish plus a pair of running socks for finishers - all for £7.

Really enjoyable. Thanks to all involved - I'll be back next year!

In short: Challenging course, very well organised, good value for money
In full: This year's race was postponed from January to April due to the snow.

It's definitely worth finding out about the course in advance: it's pretty hilly so pacing is key. The uphills are offset by some nice fast downhill sections so overall there's still PB potential - I broke mine today.

The roads aren't closed for this race but the marshalls did a good job of controlling the traffic and were very supportive. Great value for money, and the engraved glass is an unusual and practical momento. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: Toughie 10k - Halifax Harriers welcoming to all - nice momento
In full: A good tough, well organised local race with a friendly atmosphere. A quick start with run down to Brighouse the road to Baliff Bridge is flat and relatively fast, then then you realise that maybe you shouldn't have gone off too quick with the 2nd 5k a tough climb up to Lightcliffe, the climb subduing up to Hipperholme traffic lights, down to Hove Edge and then the sting in the tail around the estate and the run up the school drive to the finish. Well done to the organisers.

In short: 2nd time round for me but still a tough one
In full: On the basis of doing this is a decent time for me, have entered Liversedge half marathon. Is it any hillier than this one?
