In short: definite PB potential but a bit boring - felt like a training run. In full: A bit depressing being lapped by faster runners while going around the lake 4 times. Definite PB potential as there are no hills. I personally would prefer a T Shirt to a bottle of wine but that is just personal preference. Overall good to finish the year with a PB. In short: Friendly, well-organised race In full: Well done Poole AC. Great weather this time! Like the 4 laps as you know what you are getting but you can get stuck behind slower runners with headphones on who can't/ won't get out of the way (and I am only a mid-pack 43 min 10K runner). I always move for the fasties, it's not difficult!
Shame toilets in park cafe not open as usual. Date of review: December 30, 2007
In short: A Charming race for post-xmas excercise, well worth a trip In full: Before the race, there's decent parking and a well organised base at the pavillion. The race offered a quick, flat course consisting of 4ish laps of the park lake. The 2 drawbacks of this was park walkers that could get in the way and narrow overtaking on later loops. At the end, there was a friendly chatty atmosphere, showering/changing facilities... and even a bottle of bubbly thrown in for good measure! In all, a friendly, welcoming race, well organised. Worth considering if you're looking for a Southern race to burn those post-xmas excesses away! Date of review: December 30, 2007
In short: blabla In full: Nice way to spend a Christmas morning before heading off to work. Thanks for letting me in on race day. Special Thanks to a guy called Rich (red shirt) who made my pace during the 2nd half! (new PB!)
And please try to get the cars out! Come on; it's a Park! Date of review: December 29, 2007
In short: great conditions - some problems In full: Shame about some pedestrians getting in the way and SOME of the IPOD brigade getting in the way as they couldn't hear intructions. Great race though Date of review: December 29, 2007
