In short: Well organised run In full: Great event despite the weather doing its best to try and ruin it. Plenty of deep puddles to wade through. Enjoyable race well marshalled and one I'd sign up for every year! Nice t-shirt also Date of review: December 27, 2012
In short: Plenty of splish n splashing ...... In full: Great race, nice and flat a bit congested at the start because people dont pay attention but soon thins out plenty of puddles to plough through a good tech t shirt as ever well done newport..... Date of review: December 27, 2012
In short: Good and could be even better with just a couple of easy improvements! In full: Start very cramped with slow runners caught at the front but very good value for money with an excellent shirt a the end; do much better than all the cotton ones usually handed out.
My only grumbles would be not enough loos and the fact that it said markers are every 1k but in fact they were every mile. I always feel a 10K race should have K markers.
More obvious start and finish signs would help but for a cheap and cheerful run this is very good. I don't know how they do it at the price.
Other than that a great race to go for a PB Date of review: January 5, 2012
In short: Excellent event - would highly recommend In full: My second time of running this event. Unfortunately I succumbed to a winter vomiting bug a couple of days beforehand but luckily shook it off in time to feel up to competing. Not as fast a time for me as I would have liked but the event itself is spot on - great organisation, great marshalls, great route, fabulous t-shirt. Sincere thanks to all involved. Hope I get in again next year! Date of review: December 28, 2011
In short: A super race with PB potential In full: My first time doing this race and I was lucky with the weather, a perfect day for running. The course is pretty flat, only a few slight gradients that are barely enough to slow you down so it is good for a PB. The only problem was the start, with 450 runners crammed into a narrow road and what seemed like quite a few slower runners near the front, so the first 100 metres was more of a shuffle than a run and it was difficult to overtake. Not sure if there's anything the organisers could do about this. Once we got moving properly it was a great race; nice quiet country lanes, very well signed and marshalled, drinks station at half way. The mile markers were spot on according to my Garmin. Excellent tech T shirt that you can actually run in makes this race superb value. (Other race organisers please take note!) And I got the PB that I was hoping for! Date of review: December 28, 2011
