In short: If you only enter one event a year - make it this one. In full: This is my favourite event of the year. Brilliantly organised by Steve. The mud & hills are a real leveller. Nice medal, friendly atmosphere, great cakes to re-fuel on & cheap to enter.
On a personal level, I'm able to keep up with a lot of the normally 'gazelle' like road runners on this course.
You get a real sense of achievement when you cross the finish line of this lovely scenic course, which is very challenging to say the least.
Looking forward to next years race. Date of review: January 13, 2015
In short: Stunning scenery, friendly marshals, brilliant fun! In full: This is a must do race. Very well organised by friendly, smiling marshals. The stunning scenery takes your mind off the pain of the steep hills! The other runners were chatty and we helped one another round. Cakes at the end were delicious and very reasonably priced. Would thoroughly recommend this race. Prepare to get very muddy! Date of review: January 13, 2015
In short: Lung-busting hill climbs and slippy descents In full: What a fantastic, fun event. The chap doing the race briefing was a hoot; the marshals were plentiful, friendly and encouraging; views were stunning; steep hills with some slippery muddy tracks and some amusing signs all made for a very enjoyable challenge. Great to be allowed into the village hall for tea and cake still wearing our very muddy shoes. Date of review: January 12, 2015
In short: Awesome trail run! In full: Fantastic friendly trail run in lovely village, very well organised and well marshalled. Challenging 10 mile course with killer hills and plenty of mud and puddles along with some truly beautiful views. Cakes to rival a WI bake off - that village can bake! Worth doing for the cake alone!!! Date of review: January 12, 2015
In short: Superbly organised, community driven race. The whole village comes out to help marshal, etc.. The course is challenging, the atmosphere is friendly, the cakes are worth the 10 mile slog for. A brilliant way to start the year. Definitely do again. Date of review: January 12, 2015
In short: In my top three off road races In full: Have done every one and will continue to do so until I can't physically manage it or they stop putting the race on.It is that good, in every aspect ,from the organising to the cakes, and Stephen Goulding always adds a touch of humour in his pre race instructions.
