In short: Just want i needed before running the stroud half at the end of october i.e. mid morning mass start and running with a pack of similar quick runners. In full: Where last year, I was presented with a golden shoe for finishing the race, this year a nice surprise and bonus was the finishers t-shirt; which i only know about it the 8km mark, when i saw a finisher running back down the course cooling down. Much needed encouragement as i'm a t-shirt person not medal. Yes it was white but it did have a fine red desigh on it. in my opinion the race had all the elements you needed and for me went without a problem. Looking forward to the official results to go onto the Cirencester AC Web page. All being well will do again next year. Thanks Cirencester AC. Date of review: September 26, 2011

In short: Nice location. Run on paved roads around Earls estate. nice long drive, through trees too. Enjoyed Spitfire that flew by. Nasty hill half way around. Enjoyed the run though and pleased with nice print T-shirt! Date of review: September 25, 2011

In short: Pretty course, well organised In full: The race seemed decently well organised, the course was clearly marked and fun - a bit of undulation but each hill was over with very quickly, some lovely scenery through the forest. There were good facilities (parking, loos, changing rooms, refreshments stand, small sports-gear stall) and the people I met were nice. It seemed to me to lack a bit of atmosphere though - just a bit quiet, maybe the drizzly weather put off spectators from coming. I'd definitely do it again, and may make it a target race next year because it's a pretty PB-able course. Date of review: September 25, 2011

In short: A beautifull run In full: I really enjoyed this race. It was lovely running around the park, especially in the wooded area. Mainly flat with just one steep hill at the half way mark. Will definetly run this race for next year. Loved the gold trainer at the end. It takes pride of place on my mantlepiece. Date of review: September 29, 2010

In short: Better than last year In full: Well, they sorted out the problem at the start, at least for those lining up at the sub-40min mark. Having run a ten mile race the day before I was being a tad optimistic, and I'd forgotten that there are some climbs in this race to slow you down. However, it's worth doing just for the chance to see how the other half lives (it's set in the grounds of Cirencester Park, the estate of the Earl of Bathurst). The only thing I'd cavil about would be the weird metal running shoe as a prize - straight to landfill. Date of review: September 29, 2010

In short: Fabulous re-work of a popular 10k but team prize mayhem ensued... In full: Cirencester listened to the criticism of the start in previous years and have changed the course for the better.
It may start out onto the by-pass but it only lasts here for a few seconds before disappearing back into the Bathurst estate. There are no longer two laps and instead there is a really fast, downhill mile and a half which really opens up the PB potential.
My only real gripe is that the results were (by their own admission) a "bit dodgy" and the team prizes awarded to clubs whose first runner was behind four or five runners of other clubs..! Date of review: September 28, 2010

In short: A good race in a nice location. In full: This was my first 10k race and was good. I agree with the comments about the start, which was a bit of a cattle market. I couldn't see anything stopping me starting on the front row, but tried to guage roughly where to stand in the masses, which are crammed into the thinnest track on the entire race. The route was really good, although my GPS says it was closer to 10.2km? Date of review: September 27, 2009

In short: Good race but same old problems In full: My only criticism of this race is the start which really has to be seriously reviewed. I was quite surprised to return this year to find the exact problems as last year. With everyone 'fighting' for the best possible start it becomes inevitably frustrating to spend the first 1k weaving in and out of people who were clearly not stood in the correct position on the line. Short of moving the start, not really sure what the answer is.
Other than that no complaints. Great course, lovely weather and water bottle was just fine by me! Date of review: September 27, 2009
