In short: Two laps in a large park?
In full: Id have enjoyed this race more if they used more of the park and woods and made it an A to B race rather than two laps which for a slower runner like me, makes me lack enthusiasm the second time round. But overall the atmosphere was lovely and it was a good day out. Quite liked the use of pretty string on the medal rather than ribbon.

In short: pretty, clubby but sweet. NO time record at the end. No results up nearly 24 hours later.
In full: It's a pretty area, charity stalls and hotdogs. Good family event but very ''clubby'' who got rather overexcited in correcting the results at prizegiving. Well marshalled who were friendly and encouraging to boot. It's very hot so a 10am or even half ten start (or earlier if you swapped race order around) would be oh so very welcome. A bit poor not having results up 24 hours after the event (come on - it's 200 entrants!!!) and no time at the end, so if you didn't have a watch you have no idea (I could be wrong, can't say I saw it). Quick course, nice woods with undulations. Not worth a long trip for but as a local I would do it again as it's like a mini fete. Results at prizewinning got mixed up and some were wrong much to their chagrin and my amusement.

In short: Well organised XC event
In full: 5 milers are few and far between and so this one was a find justa few miles away in south london. We took 31 of the club up there for the run and everyone had a great day followed by a picnic and pimms afterwards. Running in the woods in summer is great and oddly felt more like downhill than uphill. Pretty pleased with my own run as it was the day after the south downs marathon. Will be back and with the club next year. thanks

In short: very enjoyable and my first 5 mile
In full: Really enjoyed this one and got a pretty decent time... my best race pace so far!

Really friendly and encouraging marshalls which is a huge help to me to hear my club name being shouted out.

Nice mix of terrain, a few nettle stings but this is what happens in the woods! will definetely be back next year and hopefully improve my time further.

In short: A nice change from a road run
In full: I really enjoyed this race even though I was near the back! The scenery was lovely, especially the woodland and even the huge puddles didn't dampen my spirits. I am more used to pounding the pavements but this was such a refreshing change and it was an extra bonus that the expected "heavy rain" held off.
The marshalls were great, a couple of them so enthusiastic I think they should have taken part themselves - they had plenty of energy!
The only negative was the medal. If engraving is too expensive, perhaps the organisers could get transfers stuck onto the ribbon (as they do at the Thanet 10)? It's always nice to be able to look back and see what you achieved the medal for.
