In short: Plenty of ups and downs. Could have done with an extra water station.

In short: Its hard, particularly the hill at the end
In full: 1st time entered, did it as part of a relay time. I did the 3rd leg (4.7m) which was okay. The killer on the course if the final 1.7 which includes an nasty uphill, particularly as it was a warm and muggy day.
Reception in the town centre at end was brill, we had 3 relay teams and we all crossed the line together. In local paper, the organisers have said they are going to review the race, see if its too hard as they want to get the numbers up, which may be a good idea.
People of stoke on trent were very friendly and let us use their loos when we were all standing waiting at the relay change over points.
Only negative comment, is that the mile markers were very sporadic and there was a definite lack of marshalls.
Next year I am entering as individual.

In short: Great well organised race
In full: This was my first time at this race, but it more than lived up to the good reports i had heard prior. Organisation and crowd support was second to none. Course was very challenging with more than it's fair share of hills but i will definately be back next year.

In short: This was my first half marathon. I had been warned that it was hilly but the last big incline did catch me out. I will definately be back next year a little wiser.......bring those hills on.

In short: My first Half Marathon... Will i forget it?? Not a chance.. A day to remember!!
In full: This was my 1st 13 mile event after completing 1 road race (Derby 10K) prior to this. What an introduction to half marathon teritory. I am a potter and knew the course but nothing could prepare you for the "Milton Road Beast" after 11 gruelling miles.. The support was fantastic and i would like to thank the lady with the hosepipe at the top of Milton Road for my cool down not to mention the gentleman handing out my favourites, Jelly Babies in Badderley Green. I posted a sub 2 hour time and received a medal as a bonus. I've cetainly got the running bug now and look forward to next years event.

In short: A gruelling, tough course with some mean hills, especially the last one near the end! Shame about the unclear start. Overall it was a great challenge, felt a real sense of achievement to finish.
