In short: A great race, well organised, good scenery, good atmosphere
In full: I thought it was fabulous- in contrast to the last comment, I don't mind water in cups and the energy drink was a nice touch. A proper runners' race

In short: Surely water in bottles isn't too hard to sort out!!
In full: Ackworth has a huge sponsor - surely the organisers can negotiate to have water in bottles at the drink stations!

The sponge was a nice touch, and, suprisingly, the only decent drink of water I got on the route!

Apart from that, a nice race, friendly people and a great atmosphere.

But for £19, I would like some water in a container that allows me to try and drink through my mouth and not my nose!! Thank heavens the sun wasn't out!!

In short: Nice course, shame about water stations
In full: Lovely course, pretty, quiet and only one pretty short hill. However, the water stations provide a cup of water rather than a bottle, which is difficult and I ended up with a raging thirst by the end as I simply couldn't take enough water on board. The rules specifically forbid carrying your own water, however I wish I'd flouted that rule as many others blatantly did. As for the goody bags... they ran out very early on, even our fastest club runners missed out! So overall, for £12 you get a cup or two of water and a t-shirt. Pretty steep. However, special mention to the village hall which was lovely and warm with home baked cakes & tea & coffee, the sponges at 9.5 miles were great, and the PA system was great at the finish line as they shout out your name.

In short: A very enjoyable race with nice views and good organisation
In full: This was my first race so its hard to give a comparison. I have never been to Ackworth but once your near by you see plenty of signs for car parks. A quick walk to the main area and you see the school for new registrations. One quick form later and £19.00 lighter you have a race number. I quickly changed in a class room and got chatting with a few other runners that had run the race in previous years. I was made to feel very welcome and didn’t experience any clickyness. The race started on time without any incident and we were off. Drink stations were plentiful and even had Lucozade a mile 5.

The entire event was well organised and well executed. The race was scenic and other runners made you feel very welcome? Could you want or expect more? I for one could not!!

I will be running this again next year, Thanks
