In short: Great 10K race
In full: Despite the rain, a good race, lots of entrants. Only gripe (and it is minor, and to be perfectly honest, self-inflicted) not a lot of room to overtake on first 1K. But to be fair, I had placed myself too far back I guess. Overall, nice Sunday race - thanks to the marshalls and finish-line chocolate marshalls (poor girls, they were cold and soaked!)

In short: Good challenging parkland run - organisation excellent!
In full: Overall really enjoyed the run, despite the rain, and the course was very interesting and challenging. Main drawback was a very narrow start making initial running quite difficult - but this was compensated for once the pack spread out and we began to move around the vast, beauitiful park.

In short: Beginner-friendly and atmospheric
In full: Would be lovely on a sunny day! Beautiful park to run around. Sizeable field. Fine tee and medal. Seems a bit cruel to make the last 100 yds an uphill slog. All in all no nonsense good fun.

In short: Nice testing race
In full: Second time I have done this and in the main enjoyed it. I did the 5k and it is a good challenging course in good scenery. Very well orgainsed in the main but two gripes - firstly there was no distance markers for the 5k, so difficult to guage your speed/distance if fairly new to running like myself and secondly, I found when I got home that I had been given last years t-shirt as they had run out of large ones - not a major problem but a little disappointing.

In short: Tough, well organised, fun
In full: New to running I came into this race hoping to beat my one and only previous 10k time, posted just 4 days previous on muddy tracks. The hills in Sutton Park put paid to any hopes of doing better though...energy sapping. I also found the sections of the course where you double back on yourself pretty demoralising, especially if you run downhill for a good kilometer...its no fun knowing you've got to haul yourself back up the same hill in a minute!

The postives were the orgqanisation. Slick and nice to be sent off by celebrities. The band playing were excellent, and made it feel like a big event. Goodie bag was excellent, and parking was well organised. Thanks for a good day... I'm off now to look for a nice flat course so I can get a decent time!
