In short: Great for a first race In full: I chose this event as a beginner to see what kind of time I could post. Having trained in the gym and done some road-running on my own, but the "competition" really pushed me and I managed to knock a few minutes off my personal best.
The course was as described on the leaflet, with plenty of inclines thrown in and the downhill finish was greatly appreciated.
Excellent marshalls posted throughout, providing encouragement to all. I would have to agree with some of the comments regarding the part of the course on the main road, with marshalls risking life and limb as a barrier between cars and runners. Difficult to safely pass anyone along that stretch.
Otherwise thoroughly enjoyable morning. Date of review: October 11, 2007

In short: Well organised, fast race In full: Very smooth, well organised, excellent and enthusiastic marshalls risking life and limb on a busy sunday morning bypass. Not especially scenic but being local I knew tht already. Felt I ran a quick race but disappointed to only make a pb by 10 seconds!

In short: Excellent organisation and marshalls let down by parts of the route In full: Did this for the third time this year, and as before the organisation and marshalling were top drawer. The chip timing was also a very welcome addition. But for some reason, although it's quite a fast course on paper I just never post a good time. The scenery is pretty uninspiring, particularly from 7k and I did find myself dodging the traffic a bit. Date of review: October 9, 2007

In short: Top banana! In full: Really well organised event, marshalls did a fantastic job supporting us & taking their lives into their hands on the bypass to make sure we were safe! Chip timing is always a bonus for those of us who don't cross the start line when the clock starts! Thumbs up for the bananas at the finish! All in all a great 10K, I'll be back next year. In short: Excellent organisation In full: Pros: Very well organised. Excellent signage. Chip timming was a welcome addition. Very Friendly. Undulating course rather than hilly. Cons: £15 on the day is a bit steep. No T-Shirt (I like T-Shirts :-)) Date of review: October 8, 2007
