In short: All good
In full: As the previous reviewer said, all races should start on time. It didn't start drastically late but a pain when it happens. Good scenery, good support from marshals and public. Quite a lot of shingle track but I managed a PB by 2 minutes.

In short: Good but not great
In full: Enjoyable scenic 10k. It has all the right elements to be a great 10k but its missing a little something....

The start point was very busy which you would expect but i dont think anyone could hear a word being said over the tanoy, i total waste of time.

Toilet facitlities were also fairly limited for almost 1000 runners.

I read that in previous years the marshalls were seriously depressing, far from it this time out - they have obviously been well briefed. It looked like they had signed up local cadets (sorry if you werent but i was in the middle of dying) who gave superb support when out on the off-road beach front, more remote stretch. The crowd support was also superb in and around woodside park... impressive for a smaller race.

I set a PB as the wind really helped you along coming back towards the finish. Equally, if the wind was in the other direction it would literally be a hell'ish run and a very difficult 10k due to the openness on the sea front.

A great mix of club runners and charity fun runners which made for a good race. Some sensible time banding at the start point made sure those out to set a fast time werent held up.

The goodie bag however was very poor. A bottle of water, medal and a mars bar. I have done a lot of small races and they have really put a lot more thought, time and care into this part. Its not an essential but its one part that really falls short compared to other races. I think this is where its very apparent this is for the RNLI rather than a race so to speak.

I would do it again as i really enjoyed it. Just a little more effort and it could be a race thats first in the diary every year.

In short: Flat and fast with chip timing at good price
In full: Good flat course with only slower being coastal winds and multi-terrain paths.

Good directions, well laid out finish, shame only drinks stop was in plastic cup...bottle at all events please!

Definite tweak needed was it starting late...i'm afraid if people leave it really late to collect their numbers, go to loo etc then that is their choice...all run's should start on time

Otherwise great run with good turn out and family friendly, will be there next year

In short: Flat,coastal... round the egrets one mo' time ?
In full: My first time at the race, and aprt from not receiving a race number/chip before the day, I'd give it another go. On a sunny South Coast day it would be lovely...and supporters waiting at The Chequers with a cold Guinness afterwards would make it even better. But beware of the traffic en route - Lyndhurst is a pain!

In short: Deceptively Challenging
In full: A very flat course, which probably makes it tougher. Mixed terrain is fun, views great. Organisation good. Can't say I noticed the marshals were that miserable (seemed fine to me). Lots of support all the way round. Lovely morning run followed by a pasty at the harbour - heaven!

In short: Very scenic 10k
In full: Really well attended and the organisation was first class. A tad warm along the sea front but a cracking day for a race. The crowds were very encouraging along the way.

1 slight issue was the idiot runner with the pushchair. The course does not lend itself to such items and with narrow secions made it impossible to pass. Next time time least the family at home

In short: Good course - did you make the marshals watch Bambi's mum die?
In full: PB, nice course, happy with the goody bag .....so can't complain too much.... BUT did you make everyone who was marshalling watch a sad film at 9am today? seriously, it makes a HUGE difference to the tail-end charlies (60mins +) who may have raised sponsorship (like me for example :-) to have the marshals say an encouraging word as one passes.

Kudos to the locals (? or random friends of other runners) round the course, you were the only ones clapping and cheering - thank you!!!!

Well organised kids 1k fun run.

In short: 1st time for Lymington 10k, will not be the last
In full: Fantastic race, views of the Solent, running through country lanes, great atmosphere, marshalls positive. Good price and with a chip! I would say its got to be my top 10k. Not an easy PB race as the paths are rather barrow at points, but still a lovely race!
