In short: Hill? What hill? My first 10k and it was a beezer!!
In full: This was my first 10k and start-to-finish, I absolutely loved it. Started off ropey, due to having no warm-up (was told that there would be one but it never happened!) and cramped up in the first 3k. Then came to the hill, which was HUGE! but was a great opportunity to walk and stretch out my tight calves. By the time I got to the top, I was halfway round and the rest of it was a caker - gentle downhills on nice spongy pine needles, with lovely scenery and glorious sunshine! I absolutely loved it and have recommended it to my running chums and hubbie, who will do it next year!

In short: A great day out. Beware of the hill!
In full: This race seems to be blessed with good weather and this year was perfect again. There are other events and entertainments in a great location so it is a good family day out. Definately recommended.

In short: Really good 10k!
In full: My first 10k since moving to Aberdeen and it was lovely! I liked the fact it was on a Saturday so that the whole weekend wasn't wasted (ie limited booze intake!!!). The sun initially coudn't decided whether to stay out but as the race began it was a lovely day. Beautiful view of the castle at the end of the run, hard hill at the start, but managed to keep running all the way up!!

In short: The stepp hill a third of the way round is incredibly tough but great fun to get up if your lungs allow it! Certainly sorts the wheat from the chaff.

In short: Bigger and better each year
In full: I have done this race now 5 times and it gets better every time! Great race in the sun I really enjoy this race but it is getting so busy now that the chance of a fast time is getting harder. Well organised with more fringe activities for the kids this year which can only enhance this event further.

In short: Please get your start better organised!
In full: As this event gets bigger it's not necessarily getting better.
A glorious day had brought out the crowds so even 1.5 hours before the start they were running out of parking spaces.
There seemed to be a lack of organisation at the start with everyone trying to get into the start pen through one small gap which made it impossible to get into the proper time bands - I don't think I even saw any guide markers.
Horribly congested for the first 3K and narrow tracks made passing people very difficult. The hill sorted them out and from then on it was far less congested.
Oh, and some more portaloos please - that has to be one of the longest queues ever!

In short: And the sun shone
In full: Wonderful first time experience and great weather to boot. Hill very challenging but managed to run it , pipers are special, will be back next year with sun cream for my head this time !! The spectators on the down hill section were fantastic and helped spur me on to a pleasing finishing time.
