In short: the best way to remove christmas excess
In full: Registering at the pub was a little hectic, but very friendly people and atmosphere.First hill last year seemed awful, but i joined a running club and now run 4 times a week, now the hill was easy. Loved the muddy tracks and getting a little dirty. I declinded the offer of en-route beer.Great finnish, loved the long down hill stretch.

In short: Bloody hard work!
In full: Loved it after but not during. Steep hill to start, went downhill along a muddy track for a while then kept going up, up and up. Finally got a downhill secion half a mile from the end but by then I was knackered. Get stuck behind a walker and you can't pass, the track is pretty narrow in many places. Well worth the price of entry though if only for the pint at 2 miles, and a cheap
t shirt too if you want to buy one.
Easy to find and fun to do but I won't be back, only because I would rather do a fast run on Boxing Day, this one is definitely for fun runner and walkers only, unless you get on the front row!

In short: A fun fun run but be prepared for a couple of steeeeeeeeeeeep climbs!!
In full: Nice crisp Boxing Day with a friendly crowd. Middle section of the race is single file through sligtly muddy wooded tracks so you need to sort out your race position early doors. Hyooge climbs with significant steepness does test the "fun" description but it's good to have a challenge. Should plug the Inn on the Hill opp the Railway Station for some post run tucker - v welcoming.

In short: It's only 3 and a half miles..........Uphill
In full: Beware this is not an easy race. 3.5 miles of hurt. While you are doing it you wonder why, afterwards it feels good.No chance of PB cos of hills and crowds.

In short: Climb the Eiger then throw yourself off the top!
In full: I'd been pre warned as to the nature of the course but bloody ell it can be tough! That first climb is steep and neverending. Put some undulating off road, narrow terrain in the middle, adda pint to be downed and then a suicidal downhill and you've got a 3.5 mile race as 'playful' as the best of em!
I entered the drinking race and stopped with a club colleague to down the drink before continuing the run (as per the rules). Unfortunately we saw a runner in front of us pick up the beer and swig a drop on the run!! Not very sporting, particularly as we were closing fast.
Overall however a very pleasant race, lot's of fun and a lovely atmosphere. I'll be back next year!
