In short: Go fur it In full: The most fun you'll ever have in a race. Honestly.
The scenery is fantastic, the course is mostly flat (apart from steps - not easy with your gorilla face on), the cameraderie is like no other race, though it's deceptively hard work. But as this is all about having a good time and raising cash for a truly worthwhile cause (it's easy to reach the minimum sponsorship total because people are so supportive of the Gorilla Organisation) - enjoy yourself and walk and amuse tourists when you need to rest or cool down.
Serious runners and fun runners alike - it's a great race. Date of review: October 18, 2008

In short: As much fun as you can have in a furry suit!! In full: Cracking event - from the moment you submit your entry, to getting the gorilla suit arrive, to the training and then to the race itself. Imagine 700 gorillas getting ready and then running round the centre of London - don't go expecting a fast time (though I was quite pleased to finish in the top third - despite frequent stops to demist my glasses, wave at sight seeing buses, join in tourists' photos, cuddle marshals and spectators...) - it's really not what this event is about! In short: I doubt you'll ever have more fun in a race In full: My first ever race, and one that will be a fantastic life-long memory. From the moment you sign up you become part of an elite club. The organiser's communication is regular, inspiring and of the highest standard befitting such a high-profile event.
The scenery is the best in the world (OK, it's not the greenery and landscapes of a fell run) and the atmosphere is enormous fun. Once you have donned the gorilla suit and mask you have a licence to be completely stupid and outrageous, and all of the participants takes full advantage of that.
I cannot recommend participation in this highly enough. Date of review: September 10, 2008

In short: Fantastic fur-clad fun. In full: My first attempt at a run in costume. This run was absolutely brilliant. Good marshalling, good organisation, the chance to do something for a very worthwhile cause. Cannot be compared to standard races that we all do week in - week out, it needs to stand alone in it's own right. Long may this event continue to raise money and awareness of the issues facing these great apes. Date of review: September 24, 2007

In short: Hot and Hairy In full: It was a great atmosphere and made the daunting prospect of running in a hot and hairy suit and mask enjoyable.
It would have been good to have more runners involved - a few thousand would have made the run so much more fun.
There could have also been more to bring attention to the cause - I'm sure most people thought we're pranksters running around on a dare.
The marshals were awesome though :D thanks to you guys :) Date of review: September 24, 2007

In short: great on the day! In full: this is a delightful race! really disappointed by the attitude of the charity afterwards though... just one e-mail saying where to send the money but no information about the day itself! the website has still got details of how to enter & no recognition for those who did the run & raised money for them. We were asked to complete a form for the Guinness Book of Records.... were enough people running to get in? it was a fabulous photo opportunity but they don't seem bothered about the runners now the money has been raised. for these reasons not sure if I would do it again, which is a shame because I do believe in the cause & it was a blast! In short: Brilliant, you smile all day: Great cause, great for London, loved by all: toursits, cabbies, in fact everyone watching this amazing spectacle In full: Definitely not a race, no PB's to be had in a gorilla suit, but who cares? Loads of gorillas running around the city's landmarks. Kudos to all those who made an extra special effort "dressing up" their gorilla outfit... and the last word must go to the Marshalls - they were excellent, thank you for going that extra mile Date of review: October 3, 2006

In short: Magic, simply Magic! The race to remember for ever! In full: Just so much fun - we came down from Yorkshire just for this - the kids ran along side too helping the push the trolley of bananas ... the steps were a bugger with the trolley though.... Date of review: September 30, 2006
