In short: Brillant day, Everyone cheers everybody else
In full: My first event half marathon had a brillant day and eve had lunch after the race at the cafe that is onsite at victoria park, Very scenic course that covers quite a bit of inner city leicester out into the rural area.

In short: Good crowd support, nice race and very well organsied
In full: Title pretty much says it all. I cant stress how well organised this was - I actually forgot my race pack and the friendly organsiers were on hand to help me straight away. Quite a few toilets in the sports centre near the race start but could have done with a few more portaloos. Nice goody bag. Nice course on the whole highligths are through the parks, low lights are on the dual carriage ways and the gruelling hill on the final mile. Overall would do it again, especially because it's for a good cause too!

In short: Great route but needed Water bottlers at the drink stations for the marathon
In full: The route was great and the Marshalls did a fantasic job, I think I would have got a PB if they had put water bottles at the drink stations for the full marathon. It was a hot day and at every water station I had to stop to drink 5 cups of water and throw 2 over myself, doing this every 3 miles lost me a lot of time. It was reminiscent of my student days stood at the bar doing shots (but without the running)

In short: Good race - crap medal lol
In full: Marshalls were excellent with good support for all runners.
Drinks stations ok but could do with handing out bottles instead of cups, energy gels on each station were very welcome
Medal was very poor, considering it was run on 10.10.10 a nice touch would have seen this on the ribbon at least as it's not coming around for another 100 years. The medal was also the same as the half mara, the missus was pleased though as she is now claiming she has run the full......

In short: flat, fast, friendly
In full: Race wise this was efficiently organised with more smiling marshals than I've seen in a long while. Course is interesting and mixes up main roads, parks and city centre running. There is only one incline of note which is much of the last mile.

Organisation outside of the race is not great though. Website was quite poor and not really helpful. People complained about lack of toilets but there were plenty in the university buildings where registration was. At least baggage drop off was much better this year.

I really don't care too much about goody bags and the like - I was there to do a race. Cost seemed to be in line with most city centre races so I have no complaints.

Overall I had a great day!

In short: marshalling and support good but poor medal and facilities
In full: Have done this race several times before and have been happy with the value for money and facilities. However my main issue with this year was a lack of showers even though the pre race info stated "changing and showers". When you have ran a half or full marathon it is nice to fresehen up before the drive home, or if there are no showers to be aware of this and dress appropriately. Also medal was poor and there was a lack of toilets etc. Even the £10 technical tee seemed poor quality. Not totally impressed!

In short: great marshals
In full: First of all and most importantly a big thank you to all the marshals who really helped with their inspiration and encouragement on what turned out to be quite a warm day, in fact they made the day in my view. Maybe not the most unique marathon but a PB for me so it definitely scores highly with me. My only gripes or areas for improvement for the organisers would be better website layout ( hard to find info, Q&A page somehow managing to miss out large amounts of useful info - which would have arrived with the race pack if it had been sent out to the correct address (again online entry form very frustrating, having to choose from a list of incorrect addresses, then trying to change this later - which I thought I had, well part of the blame I suppose is mine). As has been mentioned by others no -shirts this year, maybe their costs have gone up, but not the end of the world - all in all a lovely day, thanks to each and every person who helped put it on.

In short: A good city marathon. The course is a combination of urban and rural area. Excellent support from marshalls and other runners. Spectator support this year was also very good. Overall a good course, the last mile uphill is always a struggle.
