In short: Tree lined pavements passed Wimbledon Tennis club undulating not daunting.
In full: Wimbledon Park and the athletics stadium hosts a good race.A wet day saw 150 plus runners show. The athletics track is circled in the beginning and the end, and the bounce from this surface eases the muscles in.
Three laps of leafy suburb running with a 350 meter hill
at Victoria Drive.Only beginners would find this course
remotely difficult and Blackheath Harriers won in most impressive style with a 49minute ten mile race.
Running with the best is always uplifting and being lapped by one of the countries top athletes spured me on.Credit to Wimbledon Hercules for attracting top runners. The hills short as they were then left long stretches of wide pavement running with small declines
for long stretches. The park was a companion on the other side of the road and although there was some traffic it was not enough to worry.
The downside was no distance markers .The upside was a course that gave you three laps of two mile declines after you had mastered the 350 meter hill. The athletic track was great to meet family and friends it overlooks the boating lake and there is a pleasent corner of SW19 that shows a London borough at its best.Although marshalls were not frequent they were in relaxed form and welcoming. The club snack bar serving a good cup of tea, and new members invited to join.
The running season needs races like this one and respect
to Wimbledon, keep up the good work and we look forward to your 50th.

In short: No Mile markers at all and felt like it was over distance and unhelpful marshalls
In full: With no mile markers, no point in having a race over the distance as impossible to check your pace, especially with hills. Marshalls unhelpful

In short: Organisation must improve.
In full: The course was altered on saftey grounds due to road works. A prudent and sensible measure. The organisation failed to mention that this had shortened the course, further no revised maps were on display. The course ran at least 0.5 miles short. This turned a PB opportunity into a waste of time. The frustration is that the course finishes in Wimbledon Park and hence there was lots of potential for setting out the missing 0.5 miles. Overall impression was that they had your money and anythng else was an inconvenience. I look forward to beating ercules athletes at all future events!

In short: tough hill which has to be tackled 3 times
In full: 3 Laps with a very steep hill (probably 400m long) which takes its toll on an otherwise flat and downhill course. Quite a high standard of runner. My wife, a beginner, did 2 laps.

In short: Boring 3 laps round the roads and no marshal at a crucial point
In full: My friend and I were running this for the first time and didn't know the route we were told it would be obvious. It wasn't, and at one point we went wrong and had to go back on ourselves, no one seemed very interested when we told them at the end. Maybe this is a good one for locals, but we definatly wont be back. Also, it was frustrating to be that close to Wimbledon Common and not be running on it at all.
