In short: Great route and amazing support and organising involved In full: This was my first time running the Loch Ness Marathon and it is definitely one i would recommend to any marathon runner and anyone running their first marathon. Everything on the Saturday ran smoothly, pasta party was of really good quality food and nothing seemed a problem for any marshal or official. Early start to get bussed to the start line on the Sunday morning but once the race was started the day just got better and better. Can't speak high enough of this race. I've only run 37 marathons in the past and this is the best overall marathon i have competed in. There may be better ones out there but i haven't come across it yet. See you next year! In short: The event village, coach travel, aid stations, gift bag, shower facilities and post-race meal were all outstanding, possibly the best run event I have attended this far. Date of review: October 14, 2014
In short: Best experience of my life In full: Partook in my first marathon race in 2014 at Loch Ness. Had an amazing experience, the race day organisation was incredible. Quite a challenging yet not overly difficult course with breath taking scenary. Hospitality is incredible from pre race to post race food, teas and coffees at the start were an added touch. Everyone I spoke to throughout the two day festival were very friendly and have me some last minute race tips. If you only ever run one marathon, the Loch Ness is the one to do. Addicted to the marathon feeling and can't wait to partake in more during my lifetime.
In short: The organisation of the race is second to none. The scenery around Loch Ness is amazing. Lots of drinks/ energy stations en route.. Crowd support in the villages and Inerness is great, it can be a bit sparse around the Loch. marath Date of review: October 7, 2014
In short: A great race well organized, very scenic. Lots of water tables, energy drinks and energy gels available. No crowds on the route which is different. Some tough hills even if it is a “downhill” run. Will be back next year Date of review: October 3, 2014
In short: Lovely scenery and amazing organisation! In full: Probably the most organised and friendly race I have ever done! With the convoy of coaches taking everyone to the start point, high up in the mountains (beautiful!), it could have been a logistical nightmare, but it was completely seamless and relaxed. The route was lovely and more hilly than I had expected! But the frequent and well stocked water/feed stations and encouraging marshals were a great help! Also really good to see lots of first aid stations along the way if anyone needed assistance. Great medal,t-shirt and goodie bag at the end,and free soup if you wanted. I highly recommend this race and am very impressed by everything about it! No PB for me though! Might try a flatter course next time! Date of review: October 3, 2014
