In short: Not my normal cup of tea but it turned out to be one hell of a race, still aching two days later

In short: I race every weekend and this has to be one of my favourite races.
In full: The course is various, interesting, challenging and incredibly scenic. The organisation is good, the free tea and cakes lovely, and it's a very friendly event.

In short: Demanding run in glorious surroundings with excellent cakes for all.
In full: Good value, well organised race which was demanding but totally runnable with a friendly atmosphere and a wide field. The marshals were great cheering us all on. Excellent tea & cakes at the end were very welcome. For the winners there were outstanding trophies & booze too.

In short: "We're not in Essex any more, Toto"
In full: As a first timer, and an essex runner, was somewhat of a shock to my system - We don't have hills like these round where I live!

But, having said that, its our loss, what a great run, fantastic scenery when I could lift my head to look around, and great camaraderie on the course.

Speaking of which, my condolences to the girl who thought she'd broken her ankle, hope it was nothing quite so serious, and she got back safely.

So, all in all, a great run, and, for me, a very welcome change from that overcrowded trafficjam they call the London Marathon.

In short: pain in the patellas
In full: Not really sure about this one anymore. negatives- slightly late start, several bottlenecks within the first five minutes, ridiculous climb at 10k. positives- some really friendly people and it is a lovely route in places. I'll be back.

In short: Big shock for a First timer. Hill work is a must.
In full: What a race! Scenery is lovely if you can take it all in while running :). First incline was hard followed by a welcome downhill section (extra care was needed here). Nice flat section before the second incline begun. To state the obvious wont give it justice..... SICK!! :) the second downhill started nicely but the constant pounding of your legs trying to keep at a steady pace takes its toll. A few more ups and downs to completely finish you off before a last gasp of a 20meter incline to the finish.
Overall, an awesome race, excellent value, nice finishing prize and a real nice touch of free tea and cake at the end :)

In short: Tough hill start and lots of mud
In full: First time I've done Offa's Orror but was an absolute joy. Very friendly runners, excellent marshalling and a tough course.

Drove up from London the day before and stayed in a hotel. Well worth the effort, great scenery and almost perfect weather made it a very enjoyable race.

Slight mix up with numbers at the beginning meant my original number had gone. This was dealt with seamlessly and with a smile.

Will definitely be back next year. Thank you Chepstow Harriers
