In short: People love this dispite the fact that the organisers never quite get it right.
In full: What a shame the front runner went the wrong way, the mile markers washed away, the spectators had to tell runners where to go when they got into the stadium, the ink on the numbers washed off or tore in the weather - and the results! what can I say, what a mess!! First lady in 1 hour 14 mins??? Club runners in the wrong club or no club at all. tut. tut. But - STILL a firm club favourite. I think we would not be so fond of this race if it were to go smoothly. Its been dogged with problems since birth and still survives. Roll on 2008.

In short: Pity about the mile markers
In full: ...otherwise good course, friendly atmosphere. Only problem was the invisibility of most mile markers - signs posted up are much easier to spot than small painted markings on the road.

In short: Probably the best half around
In full: What a great race this is. This was my second year and was pleased to see that the organisation was as good as last year. It is one of the few half marathons where virtually every marshall and police officer (and there were quite a lot of them) smiled and had a few words of encouragement, outstanding, especially as the weather was so bad. So a big thank you to all of the organisers and volunteers who did such a great job. See you all next year - preferably with better weather!!

In short: I really enjoyed the race. I felt it was let down by the lack of organsiation at the start venue which was pretty poor as there was nowhere near enough toilets/changing etc.
In full: Another problem was that they used mile markers painted on the road that washed away in the rain! In Wales in Oct! Not a good idea. Even though it did have its problems I have no doubt I would do it again. If they could iron out the few problems they have this would be an excellent race and they could benefit from a much larger gathering.

In short: Once again Christine and co.- a first class event.
In full: My 4th year at this one and finally a sub 2 hours even with the terrible conditions. But my legs- never have they hurt like this before! Once again a wonderful event and I will keep coming back. Very friendly atmosphere. Marshalls and police so supportive - thank you all. Stadium finish always uplifting. Its strange that although its not high profile or famous race, its a definate must do- its got that certain something! Well done to everyone organising and helping to make our Sunday. Just maybe there will be a brand new leisure centre at the start next year.

In short: Great race - would definitely recommend this!
In full: Gret run, well-organised with lots of nice downhill stretches (and a few little hills to keep it interesting!) Well-organised with lots of really friendly support from police, marshalls and onlookers and great to finish with a lap of a stadium. Got a pb in spite of the howling wind and lashing rain. I'm just grateful there weren't any race photographers to capture the state I was in at the end!!!

In short: A big thank you to the marshalls for standing in the wind and rain
In full: Overall a great run, loved the scenery and the people at the race, was lots of fun. Only thing let the race down was organisation, I paid online and received booking confirmation and that was it, no race number or details on the race, but a very nice lady at the race sorted it out for me but that aside I would recommend this to anyone looking to do their first half marathon, the down hills make this half marathon feel like a 10km and the atmosphere and route were great 8-)
