In short: Beautiful scenery, well organised, fast 10k In full: Very impressed with this 10k. Great Bardfield itself is a beautiful picturesque village (well worth a look post race!). The race itself is 100% countryside, part road and part farm tracks. Well organized, good friendly marshals. Really very difficult to fault this race. I personally could have done with 1 more water stop (i.e. 1 at 4k and 1 at 7k - instead of just 1 at 6k). Will definitely return. Fast race and definite PB potential as very flat. In full: Course has changed and is slower than when i last did it a long time ago, Really hot day and plenty of off road bits. Very friendly organisers and cheap by current standards. Results anywhere? Date of review: September 11, 2012
In short: A decent race with a nice downhill finish In full: Our first time running the Great Bardfield 10k & overall felt it was a decent event.
Wasn't the most pleasant running along a fairly busy country road for 4k of the run, perhaps a more imaginative route could have been taken?
The field areas were a bit of a slog, but would have been far worse had it been wet.
On the organisation front, the use of a megaphone or PA would have been great at the start as the lady couldn't be heard. Would have liked a t-shirt or a medal rather than a water bottle! Date of review: September 19, 2011
In short: Friendly, quick course with lovely downhill finish In full: Dry this year - hurrah, although farm tracks had a nice new layer of uneven hardcore which tested the ankles a bit. Always suits me this race. Local and PB'd it, so very happy. Date of review: September 14, 2009
