In short: I double those who said it's a fun run with hurdles :)
In full: great fun run, dodging the obstacles (many listed already on other posts) on the way was good fun.

Tthe distance, yeah surely longer than 4 miles, but so what? still loved it ... and I'm sure everyone else did

great way to end the day !!!

In short: A grand old obstacle course
In full: I csn't believe people actually race this! It's a mad obstacle course, dodging fellow runners, street furniture, road works, signs, pedestrians, cyclists, tourists, even a roller blader coming against the flow. But great fun for all that, well organised with a good atmosphere for a good cause.

In short: A worthy Fun Run, that puts the fun back in running.
In full: One wouldn't call it a race, but more of a fun run, unless you set off within the 1st Wave, (which is what I did)But where I'd paced myself for a 5k race, I soon found it was more of a 6km! Luckily I was up for the challenge. It really helped that I was the leading fancy dressed runner; a nun, in the fast moving sea of red, the public response towards me, was amazing! I couldn't dream of slowing down, even if I wanted to! I suppose, setting off in the 1st wave, also meant that I was fortunate enough, not to get caught in the hold ups on the steps. The route was slightly different this year, with most scenic parts still being the along the Thames path. All in all, the race was very well organised, And even after running it 3yrs in a row, I still can't wait for next year's run.

In short: Worthy, fun and tricky
In full: A race supporting a worthy charity with excellent support from around 2000 runners along a tricky route with steps, slopes, tight bends, street furniture, never mind the office workers and evening revellers. Whilst the nature of the race makes it more of a fun run than a race it would be good if the organisers could be a bit more forthcoming about the distance. Initially advertised as 3.5 miles, I notice now that is has changed to 3.7 miles, yet to most runners who tried measuring by GPS or like me have an idea of their pace reckon it was over 4 miles. So, come on Crisis, how far was it? You organised it - surely you must know? I'll still come next year, though!

In short: Wasn't expecting that extra half a mile.
In full: I was counting on it being under 3 miles, like it has been the last three years, so got caught out when it was over 4!

In short: great cause, good atmosphere but very much a 'fun-run' NOT a race !
In full: This is primarily a very pleasant 'event', and not really a race. It doesn't try to be a race and its fairly obvious thats not the point of the evening; theres no race numbers, so no individual timing (either by chip or clipboard) - so anyone looking for a race or a time-trial should beware. First mile marker was about 300m too early and course was actually about 4.2 miles, 0.5 miles longer than advertised! Also the course doubles back on itself as you re-cross Blackfriars bridge, and you basically had 2 columns of runners doing a scalextric 'X ' crossing as the faster runners had to cut through all the backmarkers! Also couple of big sets of steps, which produced hold ups. Overall? lots of money/awareness raised for a good cause, just don't treat it like a race - enjoy it. The pirates all seemed to be having a great time! Marshalls/volunteers were fantastic, friendly and helpful.

In short: Route was longer than advertised - so what?; a rather nice race
In full: Not a PB cpurse, but a fun stomp around the city, nice route - maybe a little congested at pinch points but it can be like that of a lunchtime anyway.

Great cause, will do again. My garmin gave 4.21m which is a chunky bit further than the advertised 3.5m!

In short: Fab event for a great cause
In full: Glad I walked all this with a non-runner friend of mine otherwise the 15mins of standing waiting by London Bridge would have been frustrating. As it was, we really enjoyed soaking up the fab views (the route couldn't be beaten) and the excellent atmosphere.

Glad I did it ... it was everything I expected/hoped for plus a little more! Nice t-shirt and interesting goodie bag was an added bonus!

In short: Good atmosphere. Fun race. Slow due to amended route.
In full: Amended route made a few runners near me in queue for the stairs a bit grumpy, but fun, interesting run giving you a chance to see the short cuts around the Thames path and views of the river. Very well marshalled.
