In short: Another good year
In full: My 2nd go at this HM. Yet again the organisation was spot on. Water was available just when it was needed, and the sport drink station was nice a nice surprise. Drizzly start kept the temp down but ruined the view going over the bridge que sera. This year I managed to run up cardiac hill, yay.

In short: great run over the humber bridge
In full: The hill at 9 miles was a bit of a shock to the system, but cope with that and you have a great, well organised race

In short: Phew, what a scorcher! Fantastic going over the bridge, Monster hill after mile 9
In full: I should have read the reviews before choosing this as my first ever race of any kind! Saying that I finished it in 2h10m not bad for a vet. + beginner. I had prepared for the distance but the hill after 9 miles was something else, it just seemed to go on forever (it's 1 mile) and with high hedges on both sides there was no breeze, proper sun trap. There were many runners receiving medical help on this stretch, I would suspect mostly due to the heat. I heard it touched 32 deg that day.
The first time over the bridge was fantastic, I have driven over before but running over was a completely different experience, especially as it was closed to traffic on this side, the return leg was restricted to the footpath the views were probably as good but by this time I just wanted to see the finish line.
Perhaps not a good beginners race due to the hill unless you are well prepared, I walked half of "the hill" but from every other aspect it was a brilliant event. I have nothing to compare with but I thought it was well organised, well marshalled, plenty of water stations and lots of free showers from helpful residents on the route. Loads of free parking. I have booked my place for 2012, hoping for cloudy but dry :-)

In short: Always hot, but hilly and fun
In full: The satisfaction of getting to the top of cardiac hill still upright was worth all the effort. The race should start at 9.00am so slow plodders like me dont roast! Will be back next year.

In short: The Best!!
In full: As a veteran of half marathons this is the best! Held in June so expect the heat and train accordingley. Fantastic organisation, St Johns crew everywhere (you do not always see this in other races,) salt of the earth spectators who saw to our every needs! My only plea - more loos at the start please! But apart from that a big thank you!!

My condolences to Matthew Goods family, my thoughts are with you.

In short: A must do race
In full: I hope the organisers think carefully before deciding to move this race from late June. An earlier start would be a better option.
I do not fancy crossing the bridge in cold, wet conditions.Under the circumstances I think the organisation was first class.

In short: Challenging race made more difficult by total lack of thought
In full: Why did the race start at 10am? By the time runners were reaching the challenge of Gravel Pit Lane the temperature was soaring. Why did the fun run not start after the half marathon? This race should be starting at 9am if it continues to be run in late June.

With one death, and about 40 needing medical attention it simply isn't acceptable to be run so late.

In short: First time competing in this race and what a fantastic experience.
In full: Cant wait to do it all again!! The only one negative thing i can say about this event is that it should be scheduled in a cooler month. The heat was horrendous and it was just sad to see runners passing out and my deepest sympathy goes to Matthew Goods family.

In short: Fantastic experience very well organised loved every minute. St Johns ambulance worked their socks off and the support from the public was fantastic. It should be scheduled in a cooler month.
