In short: Fantastically Organised Race with Good PB potential In full: I loved this run through the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside. Not even a 24 hour wait for results could spoil this amazing race experience. Thank you Bedford Harriers....I will be back. Date of review: December 6, 2016
In short: 13.1miles of rolling countryside In full: Well organised with lots of buses to take you from the car park to the start and back again later. No waiting about. It was good to have the school hall to keep warm in at Race HQ. The route was pleasant enough with plenty of ups and downs, mostly ups it feels like until 9miles, which makes for a good fast finish or negative split. Very friendly race and my only gripe would be the lack of perhaps a banana at the finish and a refreshing drink of squash.
In short: A pleasant countryside run In full: The race was definitely tougher during the first half than the second half - the wind and the hills saw to that. But the countryside was lovely, the marshals were extremely efficient and friendly (I think I was wished a 'good morning' at least 4 times and welcomed to Bedfordshire at least twice), and any race which gets easier as you go along is fine by me. I ended up running the second half of the race 10 minutes quicker than the first and feeling refreshed at the finish. The only gripe I have was the lack of medal. Date of review: January 7, 2016
In short: Superb organisation and a great race In full: From my point of view, it was faultless. Loads of friendly marshalls, well sign posted, great car parking and buses, easy race pack pick up and bag drop off. A few hills in the first half but nothing too bad and the last few miles were mostly downhill which was a nice touch. I will be back.
In short: Not as hilly as expected! In full: Having read reviews and spoken to others who had previously run this, I thought it was going to be really tough but was pleasantly surprised - it's definitely not hilly, just a few undulations - nothing too bad at all! thought the course was pretty dull (roads, pylons, scrubby trees & fields) but seen a lot worse! Great organisation at the start & finish - really well organised! Also loved the speedy results up and the text a few hours later. Great value for money & really well done. I also managed a pb of 1.34 which I wasnt expecting at all, so it's now one of my favourite races ever, haha! Date of review: December 8, 2014
