In short: Excellent event, but won't be rushing back merely because I value the ability to walk. Once is enough...

In short: Epic event
In full: An interesting variant on their usual marathon. Extra miles and hills were like icing on top of .....icing. Particularly enjoyed the second half, strangely.

In short: Personal Requirements: Bravery, stupidity, foolhardiness, BIG sense of humour, no fear of failure, camaraderie, ,
In full: The Picnic is iconic - the OlymPinic surpassed all expectations. The marshalls were supreme - supremely supporting, supremely encouraging and, best of all, supremely professional. If all race marshals were like those last Saturday, every race in the UK would produce far more PBs. They gave the utmost support and belief to all standards of runners - thank you. As for my fellow runners, your support after you turned at the 16-mile point and met me with a couple of miles to go, was hugely appreciated. No one runner was elitist. 150 individual runners? No,we were a team of 150 that day. Thank you. Now, as for you Dr Rob! I cannot thank you enough for organising such a fantastic and incredibly difficult race. One day I hope to finish a Picnic, but last Saturday beat me by 8 mins. But I am still smiling, and know that I will be able to run this weekend despite my 16 tortuous, ragged miles. What a day! What a run! Thanks.

In short: Madder than mad, I won't ever forgeet this one.
In full: Truly world class marshals, even better than Dr Rob's usual fantastic team of friendly helpers. Drinks, food and friendly words at every feed station and junction which made a huge difference. Still a nightmarishly hard run though, which was what we were promised. Now I can walk again, loved it.
PS I wish I could have given 5 for each category but couldn't say this was a beginners race although huge respect for the guy in blue who finished after never run even standard marathon before. PB as this was the first and last time.

In short: AMAZING - FANTASTIC - GLORIOUS - HARD AS NAILS!
In full: A truly astonishing run…from start to finish it was fantastic! Everyone on the course were superb..the marshals truly great!...

I did Snowdonia last year and thought I’d never do another like that – but this was a pure test of physical and mental strength for me..still can’t believe I actually did the 30 Miles…a day I’ll never forget and a massive thank you to Jenny who kept me going in the second half..what a day!..some to treasure forever…awesome t-shirt and medal too!...

Thanks again Dr Rob for organising these events..I also managed to raise more funds than usual being such a tough run..! This kind of run gives you an enormous confidence boost...what next?

my Favourite run yet!

In short: Just as hard as you feared it would be.
In full: A really exceptional race. Stupidly hard, unnecessarily long, but I have never seen so many smiling runners. Apart from the ones who were crying.

Organisation was faultless. Apparently there was a problem with the Lucozade, but it was resolved by the time I needed any. The marshalls were amazing, full of encouragement even after watching me haul my increasingly fragile body past them for a fourth time in 6 hours!

I will definitely be back!

In full: Mental! You have to be to do it. But you need mental strength to complete it. Thats what brings the extra challenge for me. We did great out there, and I do mean all of us, runners and marshals alike. I just need to fit a Stannah stair lift now as my legs refuse to cooperate when I want to go down stairs.
Thanks Doctor Rob.
