In short: Superb event - a great road ultra
In full: So well organised - the conditions this year were horrendous - all the marshalls and helpers deserved medals - a tough event - this year it was a real "Discovery" of your determination !

In short: Pick of the Year!
In full: Despite weather, this was an awesome race that every finisher should be very proud of completing! Thanks must go to all the organisers and helpers, standing in pouring rain and 5 degress to help us out whenever needed! Great disco in evening too! Scenery stunning- support great - ascents and descents challenging to say the least- but would do it again tomorrow!!!! Friendly atmosphere throughout day and evening. Would prefer a medal but lovely glass momento. Thanks for great massage at end - free of charge- and blankets were a God send!

In short: Tougher than i imagined.
In full: Having never run this race before i didn't really know what to expect and only had feedback from a few runners who had run it before. I went into the race expecting it to be really tough..... and i wasn't disappointed. Pity the weather wasn't the best, the rain made it even harder later on the in the race as i started to get quite cold.
Was nice to get into a hot shower at the end though.
definitely will do this event again in the future.
Finish memento was fab ! made a nice change from the 'usual' medal.
Top marks for the race organisers, their really do pull out all the stops !
Nice sunny weather in 2010 please !!!

In short: Best race on the calendar
In full: This was my first ultra when I ran it last year and it's now a permanent fixture in my race diary. Phil puts on a blinder of a race and, in these extremely testing conditions, it's testament to the quality of runner that so many got round intact. Very very tough in pouring rain, and particularly cold out on the moors, conquering the weather was almost more of a challenge than conquering the difficult course. Even so, I loved it, and will be back next year. The marshals were superb, the scenery glorious (if you could see through the rain), runners are really well looked after at the finish, and the disco in the evening shouldn't be missed! I hope the field stays at 190 max, it has a very special atmosphere at this size.

In short: Tough, Tough, Tough
In full: A tough, tough, tough challenge that sadly I failed this year but one I will succeed in next year. Had to DNF at 21.5 miles because I was soaked and very, very cold. I was having trouble moving my fingers and as one of the slower runers, had to walk the long hard hills. Next year I will train on longer, steeper hills, bring a rain proof jacket and a whole selection of running gear.A massive thanks to the organisers and to the marshalls, who were brilliant in the awful weather conditions. When I retired from the race I knew it was the sensible thing to do and I wasn't too disappointed at the time. Now, 2 days later I feel very p**sed off but determined for next year.

In short: So that's why so many come back year after year!
In full:
My first time at the Dartmoor Discovery, but it won't be my last.

Tough hilly 32.4 mile course, made tougher this year by heavy rain from mile 5 to the end. If it was hard for the runners, it must have been dreadful for the dozens and dozens of marshalls manning drink stations, cattle grid gates etc - thank you guys, every one of you did a superb job.
