In short: well marshalled, tough course, made for me by the faster runners congratulating ME as they lapped me!!!!!!!!
In full: thought the atmosphere and the welcoming nature of the faster runners was amazing. to hear them say well done to me as they lapped me lifted my spirits in the drizzling rain. One slight grumble..... I entered via a slightly unconventional route...this meant I never saw any info re - no headphones. I travelled up from east kent for this race and also no-one heard anything from the starter announcer (including the starting gun) let alone any comments about headphones. however, i didnt actually have mine in my ears they are a type that means i can hear the music without them being in but can still hear the surroundings. This should have been made clear because the screaming at me by the marshall at the end of the first lap almost made me want to stop. I quite happily removed them so it was more obvious but as a beginner runner and someone who travelled a long way - I was a bit taken aback by the attitude. After all if you are going to ban them due to UKA rules then garmins should not be allowed either.

In short: tough but friendly and well organised
In full: There could have been more information on the website about location/parking etc (or was it just me who went to the wrong place??) however on the day the organisation was faultless, marshalls were very friendly considering they were standing in the rain for 4 hours and the finishing t-shirt was great!

In short: Great race on new course
In full: Tough "hilly" course of 3 laps.

The race needs more marshals as I somehow ran past a turning where there was a sign but no marshal, but luckily I was called back. It was raining at the time and I wasn't concentrating. On some turnings there were plenty of marshals and others none, which was a bit disappointing.

However, free tea and a very good tshirt were included and all for an incredibly cheap price. Good to know we weren't being ripped off.

Very good venue and facilities.

See you next year.

In short: Wow... That hill... 3 times!!!
In full: Excellent race despite the rain, laps meant I could pop in to race hq to get long sleeve as I was freezing, and use facilities... Support fantastic despite/because of weather, narwhals enthusiastic and a lovely technical tshirt in the size asked for makes this a great race... Thank you Essex 20
