In short: A fantastic way to catch up with old friends!! In full: When you live on the opposite side of the country travelling a long way for an event, it's got to be worthwhile and Crewkerne RC make it worth every mile of suffering on the M25!!!
The weather was perfect but even if it hadn't been It's still a magnificent event! Date of review: December 13, 2010
In full: My first monty and defo not the last, very well organised with a moderate festive feel, a cold day for the marshalls (well done Dave/Nick!!!)A challenging route with lots of slippery stuff. Date of review: December 11, 2010
In short: Crewkerne controls the weather god In full: In the midst of the worst bout of weather in 40 years Crewkerne hold the Monty on an incredibly warm and sunny day in December (again) - they must have a direct line to the weather god and if they do they deserve it. Fantastic and challenging race, superbly encouraging marshalling and dream like organisation plus a Christmas pud to finish and spot prizes. No wonder all places are taken 3 months before the race day. But keep it quiet we don't want too many city people coming down 'ere. Date of review: December 7, 2010
In short: Hardcore hills and mud! In full: Lots of steep up and downhills, which meant some great views and scenery in places. Well organised with clear markers/hill numbers and encouraging marshalls. Very muddy but great fun! Date of review: December 6, 2010

In short: Absolute madness....best race of the year.. In full: 10 hills in 10 miles, the first so steep you need a rope, mud everywhere..plus being fairly near the back what wasn't mud to start with was after the first half of the pack churned it up. Weather miraculously good after a week of rain. Well marshalled and organised, absolute madness for anyone of average ability...fantastic race Date of review: February 28, 2010
In short: A regular favourite. The mud was fun this year! In full: More 10.5miles than 10.0miles (not a complaint as I remembered the route from last year). The marshalling was brilliant with lots of encouragement and support. Plenty of route variety, both in terrain and views. Date of review: December 12, 2009
In short: One of a kind unique event In full: Following days of rain the sun came out and provided stunning views of the local countryside (if you dared take your eyes off the ground!). This event is special and is up there with the Grizzly. Date of review: December 10, 2009
In short: A great morning out in a wonderful setting In full: I hadn't entered a race for 6 months due to injury and wanted a great experience - and this was it. Very muddy, time not an issue,a few hands and knees ascents of hills and a wonderful setting. There were always new things happening and congratulations to the organisers on fitting in so many different challenges. My only grouch was that it seemed a long, long time to the first drinks station, which distance wise was not that far..just an extremely tough first few miles. The 2.30 cut-off was quite tough in these conditions.
I would definitely recommend this event, especilly if you love a long muddy run in beautiful countryside Date of review: December 8, 2009
