In short: This was a PB course as most of comments below reflect. In full: It did undulate but if you ran even pace it never really hit home bigtime. I ran 1:42 which I was pleased with but will be back again as the route never drags in any part and psychologically assists PB hunters. Date of review: October 31, 2006
In short: Well worth the trip In full: Good changing facilities, excellent marshalling & traffic control coupled with a sea-side start all made for a great race. Undulating coarse makes this one a real challenge (first time i've ever seen two people come accross the line & promptly throw up!). The hills were plentiful but not to steep and a PB was achieved along with my first sub 1:30 half marathon. Well done to all involved. Date of review: October 19, 2006
In short: Not flat but forgiving. Worth a day out In full: Liked the course even if it was a tad hillier than I was expecting, duty rumour was that it was mostly flat with one hill!!! Good traffic control, great support on the course and seafront. Plenty to do afterwards, carvery lunches, pubs etc.
Water stop at 4miles could have been sooner but other than that no probs at all. And a real bargain at £7, no goody bag but for that price I wasn't expecting a medal so to get one was a bonus.
See you next year. Date of review: October 15, 2006
In short: Well organised race - although undulating still p.b potential In full: Well organised race.water stations ok.Finish line slightly obscured/banner could be higher! nice downhill finish. Some long gentle hills,no killer hillls! All round good race - will do again! Date of review: October 15, 2006
In short: Smashed my PB too!!! In full: Managed to knock over 10 minutes off my PB for this one so it has to be one of my favourite races. My (unofficial time) was around 1h 33 minutes and 40 seconds so I'm absolutely delgithed with this one. The scenery was glorious, the roads quiet and the weather was perfect for running.
All in all, a fantastic race. Date of review: October 15, 2006
In short: Smashed my PB! In full: Great scenic route with a few gentle hills to test you but some long flat/downhill sections too and a nice finish along the cliff top and prom. Well marshalled (thanks to you all). I went under 1 hour 30 for the first time so I'm chuffed. Would defo come back for more. Date of review: October 15, 2006
