In short: Tough as nails but rather friendly. Superb scenery and 2 river crossings!
In full: This was the first time I have ran this but it won't be the last. An excellent course that really is as tough as nails. Lots of hills and some being very tough but never that long. Single track through woods with some ducking beneath trees involved! One water station at 6km which is enough. And then at 9km the first river crossing. A steep 6ft drop into the (waist deep) water followed by a wade across. A rocky bottom means no running. The exit bank was also about 6ft high and involves a muddy climb out. The next and final crossing is about 0.5k later and an easy one. At least my shoes ended up clean. Good organisation but no momento (but at £8 to enter hat's not a surprise). My only problem was a road crossing at 6km with no marshalls on-potential for an accident here. Superb evening out and I'll be back again.

In short: Not done many races but this was the best so far - by a long way
In full: Brilliant fun - flint tracks, rough fields, woods, mud, 2 rivers to cross etc. Very little on the flat, long uphills and fast downhills. Never had this much fun without a drink in my hand. Excellent organisation and good marshalls - will be back next year - thanks Forde Abbey.

In short: I got wet & I don't like it!!!
In full: Mainly uphill for 6K then a promising downhill push to what you hope is the finish, A good cheer makes you think you're near the finish but it's the two thigh deep river crossings. The finish then seems a long way with soggy feet. A nice feeling of achievement makes it all worthwhile, plus a cup of Pimms to refresh...very good!
