In short: Well worth the turning out for, good run on forest trails with a bit of mud
In full: First time run, good race on forest trails, with a bit of mud, relatively flat course and a pair of gloves at the finnish!

In short: Muddy underfoot but cool conditions for a great race
In full: The advertised distance quite clearly says "approx 7 miles" although it feels longer given the terrain which makes a 10k pb somewhat unlikely... :-) Always a favourite of mine as it's different to the usual road race and glory hunters. Nice pair of branded gloves this year.

In short: Lovely scenery, muddy trail but very friendly race!
In full: Really enjoyed this race - I was hunting for a 10k PB but given I was about 8mins off I had to give up on this fairly soon and just enjoy the race. Which I did immensely. The scenery was lovely, though it was more cross-country than trail in places - lots of big muddy puddles to weave through. I would have liked to have distance markers as I think this race was longer than advertised but overall the organisation was good and the marshalls, organisers and other runners helpful and friendly.

In short: If you like off-road with the odd muddy bit, relatively flat, then this is an excellent coursee

In short: Great venue, good mix of runners
In full: First time for me. Good mix of runners, well organised and run on an interesting mix of surfaces through a very pleasant if not somewhat muddy in places forest. One to repeat

In short: very enjoyable and beautiful route, a little confused by the mile markers as I speeded at the 6 mile one, but got there in the end...

In short: one to do again and again
In full: well marshalled course although the loop at the drinks station was confusing and running in the opposite direction to the leaders is not great. this happened again later in the race and i was not sure where to go. that said, it is one to come back to next year. excellent venue, very friendly and the family enjoyed the fun run too.

In short: Forest race with a difference
In full: Apologies for the advertised "10K" distance, it's nearer 7.5 miles but worth the effort in a hidden part of the forest. If you're tired of overpriced road races this is the one for you, difficult conditions underfoot but in glorious scenery makes you feel good and with a decent pair of socks as a momento well worth the trip. Give it a go.
