In short: Great course a must for the race calendar. Needs some portaloos! In full: I have done this race for 4 years in a row now, so that's 4 brass Pattingham Bells in my collection. Quite a tough race over glorious staffordshire countryside. Well attended , a popular race which was well organised. Next time can we have more toilets please, there are hundreds of runners on this one and barely any facilities! Otherwise, great job, see you next year. Date of review: October 13, 2014
In short: Fabulous fun again! In full: Just love this race. The extra 1/4 mile was nearly the end of me, but hey, on 7 training runs since January, I was glad to survive :) Great race - phenomenal number of marshalls, really very very good. And supportive marshalls too. Great fun, lovely scenery, great weather this year too, can't fault it. Roll on 2011 :) Date of review: November 3, 2010
In short: The small route change made all the difference In full: As I live in the village where the race is held I try and run it every year - but I've never really trained for it until this year. I wanted a sub-hour time and I knew what I had to do but then there was a little detour in the last mile from the usual route which added a quarter-mile.
On the old route my pace would've seen me finish in 59:50 so I'm a bit annoyed about the route change but it doesn't take anything away from the race. It's always very enjoyable and the weather was perfect.
I'll be back again in 2011. Date of review: October 18, 2010
In short: A fabulous event with wonderful scenery. In full: Some pretty tough hills (the last mile is all uphill) but lots of fun! And the fruit cake at the end is delicious. Date of review: October 18, 2010
