In short: Marvellous, inclusive atmosphere
In full: My first ever 10K, deliberately chosen cos it is close to home and flat :-) Top organisation, very VERY friendly and LOTS of encouragement for eveyone. Village fete atmosphere was lovely. Only downside was lots of people milling around the finish line (for us slower types anyway!) made the finish a bit confusing, but its a TINY bleat on what was a fantastic morning.

In short: Excellent organisation and a great day out for the whole family
In full: Lots to do for all the family - my 8 year old had an excellent run and took a trophy home, so we'll definitely be back next year. Well done Keevil School!

In short: My first 10k & it was really memorable, as much for finishing as anything else.
In full: It was my first 10k & it was a really hot day. The organisation was superb, with marshalls all round the course shouting encouragement. The first lap was definitely easier than the second & I thought the finish line would never come. When it did I managed to pass out & spent an hour in the company of the St John's Ambulance crew. I want to thank them for managing to revive me, & to the organisers & volunteers for making this a great event. There are plenty of things for all the family, & lots of food & drink to cool the spectators & runners down.

In short: go and do it - it's a different experience to other events
In full: Even though I left with a tear to something called the medial latteral ligament (ooooouuucchhhh!!) we had a great day, it is mentally tough running the two laps, but there was loads of marshall and encouragement and the St John's Ambulance crew offering 'thirst' aid (without all these volunteers there would be no racing!).
A series of age group races for the little and not so little ones plus the hilarity of the three legged world record. Local businesses selling their wares and slick organisation added to a grand experience all around.
Just out of interest my garmin registered 10.06km, considering I started on the outside, pretty accurate all around.

In short: unforgettable first ever race!!
In full: Will certainly remember this as my first ever race, not only because I found it hard with the heat and stillness of the air but because I managed to knock 9 minutes off my time from a training run around the course two weeks previous! Must have been my competitive nature kicking in when running alongside others!! But more importantly, the day was memorable for the atmosphere with every member of the family having the opportunity to take part in something. My children thoroughly enjoyed their races and the three-legged event was great fun. All the hard work of the organisers paid off with a well organised, great fun day with a fab atmosphere. Would like to think I could do it again next year and who knows...maybe knock another nine minutes off my time!! Look out!

In short: A VERY PLEASANT RACE INDEED!
In full: A very nice 10k and definate pb potential although not as easy a course as it first looks!

Organisation was spot on and I think there was more toilets here then there was for the FLM!

Was also great to see the Union flag flying high which added to this already very British atmosphere!

Well done to all involved!

In short: Well organised day that caters for the whole family, my 5 and 9 year old ran as well. We stayed around for the world record attempt at the 3 legged race... Awesome

In short: Mentally testing, but a great day out
In full: Very flat course, but not really a PB race because running two laps of an airfield is mentally very tough.

Well organised and supported, I was very pleased with the generous applause I got at the end. Thanks to all of you.

Had a great day out with family and friends there to support. Having the kids races makes this a top day out, but I think the three legged race at the end was dragging it out a bit too much. If I'd have been marshalling I don't think I'd have been too happy.

Great idea having a beer tent there, if I hadn't had to drive home I'd definitely have visited it!

Good value for money but a t-shirt would have been nice - being at the airfield surely someone could come up with an imaginative design?

See you again next year.

In short: Good run on a two lap course
In full: Second time of running so knew what to expect. Very slight uphill from the start for the first 0.7 miles ascending around 24ft so nothing to taxing and a good warm up for the legs. From there it is a slight downhill curving around several long bends. hard to negotiate the shortest route and thus the differing distances but nice and smooth with only the occasional tuft of grass. A bit of a rise more than a hill from mile 2 for about three quarters of a mile, slows you a bit, but not too taxing. Then pretty flat through to the start and around again. My Garmin showed around 72% flat with 11% ascending and 17% descending so not bad at all.

I enjoyed the race, not as hot as last year even though there was no wind.

Would be interesting to see if they could start further back from the finish and remove the dog leg in the middle, but even with the dog leg it was great.

Thanks

See you next year.

In short: Flat run around an airfield. Friendly crowd. Not intimidating for first timers
In full: Unique run round an airfield. Very hot with all the tarmac, but good views and friendly attendance. Recommended for anyone wanting to just run the distance without any frills or hills :-)
