In short: Heaven
In full: I dont think anyone will really understand this race until they do it. It is a totally unique experience. Hundreds of people, majority in fancy dress of some sort, tackling a really tough mixed road/trail/ fell race, and having a whale of a time. Third year for me, and still best defined as 'Heaven on earth'. Its the true start of christmas. I could go on enthusing for hours about this run. Thanks to the organisers, the marshals, all the runners in great fancy dress and whoever created this magnificent corner of our great countryside. Its what running was invented for.

In short: The best race of the year!
In full: Absolutley brilliant race. Looking up the hill was like watching a hen party invade another county.
Top group of people to run/walk with. Great stuff. A must do race!

In short: Very tough
In full: Don't let the festive atmosphere lull you into complacency. This is a tough run. A couple of steep rocky climbs & lots of running over undulating, uneven, icy surfaces. Bit hairy at times. Great workout.

In short: Great atmosphere and a superb end of season bit of fun
In full: Could hardly believe the cold at the start. The fancy dress made for an uplifting race.

Many thanks to the marshalls, who must have been absolutely freezing, as must poor Bryan Dale.

Shame that the numbers were sent out so late it did make me wonder if I would ever receive mine. Plus in such cold conditions I couldn't see why this race should have started off at 11.08, it really was nippy standing there.

Overall, definitely worth doing,

In short: Race of the year
In full: Fantastic race, very friendly and great fun fancy dress everywhere.
You've never struggled up a fell until you've been overtaken by Friar Tuck, had Batman standing on the top with his cape flowing, and all with carols piping out from someones backpack.!
Very tough climb, but worth it for the views.
Great atmosphere and superb organization.
Extra thanks to the marshals for standing out in the freezing cold and helping us keep going.
Don't miss this race.Best of the year!
