In short: A really enjoyable morning, the sunshine was very welcome. Very well organised event in a beautiful part of Northamptonshire. "Hills", What Hills, they add to the fun!

In short: Good atmosphere - tough run!
In full: Good atmosphere & plenty of water stations, which was great given the weather! The run was quite hilly though and made 10k seem a lot further than usual!

In short: Low key race
In full: Apparently there were supposed to be 700+ runners in the 15 mile race. I think most probably opted for the superior Sheffield Half on the same day.
Very tough weather conditions - I got very burnt ! Would have been better on the original date.
The scenery was very nice but 'samey'. Country lanes with few runners on them at times were quite lonely. Was just like a training run. I prefer a mixture of rural and town.
There were good points though. Plenty of water and good enthusiastic marshalling. Thanks also to the children who were handing out sweets to runners !!
Goody bag was good and the energy shake was nice. medal poor though.

In short: Good race over a course of 2 halves
In full: Very scenic route. Very hilly over the first 5km. Marshalls were great, particularly over the first half of the race but the lack of distance markers meant that pacing was almost impossible.
Great atmosphere too.
Unsure as to why the 15 mile start was so late on such a warm day. It also meant that the majority of the crowd had gone home by the time the people who had worked the hardest were finishing.

In short: Undulating ? No Hilly ? Yes
In full: A lovely race at a lovely venue. Just wish the hill at about 5k was a little easier !
It's a very well organised race and the support of the marshals is brilliant.
My only criticisms would be the previously mentioned lack of marker posts in the first 4km. I confused myself by reading marker posts for the marshals posts.
Only other moan is how after a wide open start the route quickly narrows down at the gateway onto the track. This causes a bit of a bottleneck which takes a while to sort itself out.
However the gripes shouldn't detract from a great race. Managed to improve my 2006 time by ten minutes thanks to a merciless trainer !

In short: Great support from the enthusiastic marshalls
In full: All sorts of difficulties with the mile/km markers in the early stages of the race. My brochure arrived this week with an amendment on the cover stating the start was at 10.30. The actual 15mile race began at 11.00 the time originally stated in the brochure. I was there far too early. Nevertheless, a most enjoyable occasion with the enthusiasm of the marshalls being most welcome. Well done and thanks to all.
